You never played a melee class, did you?Back on ffxi most of the time you had your looking for party status up, you almost instantly got an invite. Now on this game once you put it up you never get an invite. I know it probably has to do with the requirement to party to level up on ffxi , but i think one thing the developers can do to help this, is to make the looking for party symbol more distinguishable , kind of how it looks on ffxi. Another reason could also be the lack of option to do for example a "/SEA" command which will search for people on the area you are in. Just a suggestion.
You could invite anyone by doing a /sea for their name and clicking invite from the list, or doing /pcmd add "name" I think. You couldn't select a person standing in front of you and click "invite" unless they had their flag up, though, I think.
/scomment [stuff] - set a short message people can see when searching
/afk
/busy
/lfp - looking for party
/ltm - looking to meld
/search [stuff] - search for online players meeting various conditions

I did use my LFG flag once, for the egg quest.
As above, you have one. People just don't use them.I don't know much about these online statuses. But I really miss the FFXI obviousness of setting "I want a party" icon. You wouldn't need all the shouting about Fate parties
