If the alliance wipes on the first pull to the Valefors because the tanks pointed the tail swipes at everybody, you can bet your ass I'm going to be leaving. I don't have time for CT trolls.

The same goes if I see people purposely stacking skeletons on Bone Dragon or voking it off the main tank to wipe the alliance. If they want people to not leave or vote abandon CT they need to make it so you can kick trolls. There is no recourse if someone in another party or a whole other party is trolling except vote abandon or just leave.

I'd like to comment on this, since today I left a duty roulette.

Personally, I don't like doing speed runs in roulette. You're with a bunch of strangers, some may not have optimal gear, and most tanks I've encountered don't know how to use cooldowns. I find it more stress than it's worth, so I usually leave. If people want to speed run, they should use party finder and set up an optimal group.

I feel like 30 minutes is plenty significant not to be able to queue for anything afterward.

I got into a WP one time where the PLD (reminder, this is at level 50) only used flash once per pull and often didn't hit all the mobs. I tried to offer tips, but they were all ignored and 15 minutes in we weren't even at the first boss.
Rather than bang my head against the wall, I apologized for not having the patience to go on and left. And so had to sit twiddling my thumbs for 30 minutes. I accept it was my choice...but bumping up the penalty is crazy.

Most of the people who leave at the beginning are avoiding the penalty altogether because someone is still in CS. THAT needs to change.

Sounds like you should just start a party finder group to me.

Don't like what you got? Too bad. It's a roulette, it's not meant to work in your favor, it's supposed to be random. As I've said before on a few other topics, people need to remember that it's a mmo, it's not all about you. When you pull bs like that, you're wasting other people's time.

Here comes the hate and rage but, if you don't like playing with others or quiting because of 1 mistake, hoping to get a better pt, I think the genre you're looking for are called single player rpgs.
What about those who dont speak or understand (or at least acknowledge any english) that go into DF with the english option selected and have no clue whatsoever. Then proceed to cause wipe after wipe after wipe. Aren't they wasting peoples time?
Couldnt they find a guide in their own language first? Couldnt they only que for the language they understand if they dont know the dungeon? Had a german, no english whatsoever, no idea of the fight, whatsoever, in King Moggle. No one could explain what to do, as no one else int he party spoke German.Werent they wasting the other 7 peoples time also?

While there is a problem with people leaving and its better to fix the problem rather than try to cover the problem up, I think this is one time where it either just needs to be covered up or it needs to be covered up at the same time as the underlying problem is fixed.

My point is, if people are leaving instances it wouldn't make as many people upset if they could get a replacement quicker, if at all. I don't care why someone leaves, stuff happens and people gotta go or many other reasons. If you create a situation where replacements for any class can be found in minutes then the people who want to finish that dungeon can do so even if people abandon This is further proven by what job drops. DPS drop, NBD we will get another. Why can't this same mindset be for tanks and healers as well? Because they aren't queuing for in progress instances. Fix that

Why can't we queue for in progress instances only as well as new only or either? Why can't we get some visual on what in progress instances are currently looking for a certain role? Why aren't there specific bonuses or rewards to joining and completing an in progress?

Yea, I like to save dungeon runs. I like when the tank drops after the dps immediately drops upon loading into pharos. But slowly plowing through it until another dps and eventually a tank shows up then go on to beat it with two new to the dungeon dps with no problems makes me feel like a hero. Because I don't abandon just because they did.

If I could see that "hey someone needs a healer for a Haukke NM run and we will give you X <insert currency/points/items here> if you can get in and help them" I might be inclined to hop in and help them, as would other people.

No this doesn't stop people from abandoning and hey it could make it worse, but who cares when that tank that left will be replaced very soon and you can finish with minimal delays. At least this way would lower the impact of abandoners to the rest of the team, which at least one of them needed to do this dungeon anyways since the dungeon was picked(from a roulette users point of view at least).

Pretty much this. Why people try to force me to do speedruns is beyond me. This is what I do as a healer if you pull more then 2 groups I watch you die and leave, as a tank I pull one group at a time I don't trust random people, as a dps one mob at a time since I'm a monk mostly.

As for talking to people? Time spent typing is time spent not doing dps, healing, or tanking. But if you really want to talk? Do it in FC or linkshell. You just another random in the DF, so don't expect much conversation out of me.
Wow, what have mmo's come to?
I remember chatting and joking around with party members a lot back in the early days of wow. This is an mmo you know, not a mutliplayer game with a chatroom (which what you seem to think).
