Just curious if I'm the only very upset tank about this?

I think the purpose was to encourage experienced tanks to participate in more 8-man activity, especially in PF and DF. If it was available to 4-mans, it wouldn't fulfill its purpose.

Besides, what's wrong with having certain rewards exclusive to certain achievements?

• I don't want to level my classes to 50. I don't get a Paragon's Crown.
  
• I don't want to go back in time and play 1.0. I don't get a Goobbue.
  
• I don't want to do dailies. I don't get a Bomb thingy.
  
• You don't want to do 8-man content. You don't get a Lion.

Want the reward? Do what's required to get it. Don't want to do it? Make peace with the fact that you won't get the reward. Just like anything else in this game.
