Belias is an Elder Primal, which puts it on the same level as Bahamut in power, and Zodiark itself is supposed to be as powerful as Hydaelyn.
Actually the 12 scions of light are the names of the ascians. and 5 of the 12 are previous final bosses from FFI through V. Which i kinda want them to have their own themed dungeons. Famrit being Cloud of Darkness and more than likely will be tied into Crystal Tower.

Okay then. that's what I'll do. I'll tell you a story. Can you hear them? All these people who lived in terror of you and your judgement. All these people who's ancestors devoted themselves to you, sacrificed themselves to you. Can you hear them singing?

I never really played much of FFXII, so I had to look that up. Used this link: http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/E...Fantasy_XII%29

Though the way it's laid out, I do wonder if it's possible that each Ascian is an ascended Summoner who has been entrusted with a unique aetheryte crystal to summon these Elder Primals? Other than Ultima and Zodiark (which could be summoned collectively by the Ascians), it is possible that each Ascian could summon their respective Elder Primal.

Everyone who has played is already familiar with Lahabrea. According to the above link, his Elder Primal would be Mateus, the Corrupt. Others who have been introduced would have them as well. Pashtarot would be in possession of Zeromus, the Condemner, Igeyorhm would be in possession of Shemhazai, the Whisperer, and Nabriales would be in possession of Cuchulainn, the Impure. Elidibus, who we met briefly, could possibly be either a Lesser Ascian who would not possess an Elder Primal Aetheryte but still serves the cause, or he could be the key to summoning Ultima or Zodiark because they might, somehow, not be summonable by a single Ascian like the others are.

It's already clear that the Ascians possess great power and technology concerning primals, especially considering how they have used magical totems to amplify the power of ordinary primals far beyond limits they are supposed to reach.

I should note that this is all purely speculation and could be way, way off. But considering that the Ascians have been known to summon great beasts (during the very early main story quests) and are always constantly monitoring and challenging the adventurers' trials against the primals, even going so far as to using special totems to amplify each of the primals thus far... it is possible that they could possess far more power than they have ever even hinted at before. Lahabrea, as you may remember, was in Thancred's body when he was fought during the battle in Praetorium, so he probably lacked the power to summon Mateus at that point. But he could be back later.
