Guy gamers who play girl characters

I must admit, the idea of playing a female character is appealing to me, but I always chose a female character. Aethetically, the female model is pleasing to me, I enjoy looking at it, I love seeing the different armors on it, and it's a general joy to gear out.

This game, I enjoy much the same to my current character - he's visually pleasing to my eye, he's fun to gear out, and he looks B.A. in his armor without looking like a steroid junky.

Because articles like this, this, and this are still being written. If more people play as females it sends the message to developers that players want female protagonists, and maybe we can get better representation in games, and other media.

It depends on how someone wants to perceive the character. I see 2 points of view;
1. Different/better/ideal version of "me"
2. He/she, the ideal friend/girlfriend/boyfriend.

dunno what kind of sick responses people asking this questions want, then joke with those, but Ill take the bite and response at a more personal level

I for one, as an amateurish illustrator like to draw females, one thing that keeps me amateur is not drawing things outside of my comfort zone, but I do commissions from time to time

Ergo, I like to see females more and enjoy the character customization games, as I am not the kind of person that thinks the char on screen is me because I draw characters that are not me, MMO girls are more of my creation than identity, this time a character I used for a battle web comic

Also, playing with female characters and drawing female characters does not makes you a weirdo distant from reality, actually drawing a girl I dated was a catalysis to the awesome stable relationship I have with her (kinda planning wedding), shes not a gamer but if she was she would play as a male character because she likes reading a lot and likes male characters mostly

Aesthetics mostly. I'd rather look at a girl than a guy for hours on end. Shallow, probably, but there it is.

Honestly, I have played with both male and female characters. I tend to play female because to me they look better then male avatars. No, nothing such as a fetish and I am pretty solid on my sexuality. I just enjoy the model and gear choices females have.
