Like Arkista says, because I can, there was a time when I wouldn't play female toons, that has changed.
I work outside and am a crew boss in a car detail shop where temperatures can spike around 120 degrees midsummer.
I watch sweaty guys work all day, I wanna watch my sweaty girl when I get home.^^
Lets approach the question from another angle.
When i play Fighting games, I tend to play the female characters first.
One because i like to unlock the new ( costumes ) which are the usual awards for progressing in fighting games. Then i also like the female form while fighting...it's pure art. > in my opinion < The devs know this.. thats why they put the females in skirts , or tights , ect. The appeal here is completely hormonal and>target audience stays happy. You know by now that sex sells and this game along with it's devs knows this a well. Why else do you think they offered thong bikinis for the collectors edition.
Maybe your young and you will soon realize what im talking about. But trust me
All men are PERVS some just hide it more than others. If a chick bent over in a skirt all men eyes will stare. young, old, married , religious. ect. Men are Dogs and dog spelled backwards is god and god made us in his own image so. Enjoy. Women were created for us from us.
To each their own.
I don't think I could have played FFXI for 9 years as a male Character. I don't always play as a female character in every game even when given a choice. Mass Effect trilogy, Dragon Ages, Demon/Dark Souls1/2 I played a dude but I guess because most of the time their bodies had full armor on..... except for those sex scenes.
So, you've played females in all of those because you've fetishizes your characters' bodies to some degree? I still find this excuse a bit creepy, especially when some of those characters are played for years and across many games. To each their own.

Since when is finding something sexually attractive "fetishising"? And then you try to creep shame? The amount of male shaming which goes on in these kinds of threads is absolutely hilarious.
Men don't have to justify to you why they find female portrayals attractive, so stop trying to shame them.
