I'm on same server and all I know is she asked for advice on starting a new fc on our server forums and then disbanding that. Also sighted selling expensive nuts
I'm also finding the social side of this game quite a difficulty. In fact after 3 months I still don't have an FC or a single friend lol.
I play on the ps3 so communication was tricky at 1st, but I got a keyboard but that seems to be used for little more than a 'hey' in duty finder. Everything I have ever done has been done through DF alone, and although I've met some cool people and had a laugh but you never see them again.
I look at PF to play with people on same server, but they all want 1 shot kill and I've not done ex primals or T5 with duty finder yet. I know I could make my own group but I feel put off by how everyone wants instant success and exp.
A while ago I joined a FC, a new one that I hoped we could build together but their goals changed within a week and I didn't like the more serious vibe so left.
I know some of this falls on me but this game offers no real reason for others to talk to anyone outside of friends.
Sounds to me like you want to join a community that isn't only interested in the coil. Guilds made up of players only interested in progression seem to slowly fade in activity once they all have the items they want, and they run only a few days a week. You seem to want a guild that has an active social base aside from coil and progression. I think our guild struck that balance really well but we got lucky. If you ever find yourself on Balmung hit me up and I can get you into a good one.
Life is so strange, when you're a stranger, faces look ugly, when you're alone.
Not sure if you'd be interested OP, but I'm the leader of a very small FC on Adamantoise. We are only about 7 people, and we are working on getting a house. None of us are elitists, nor are we complete noobs. We are all just trying to play the game and enjoy it together as we learn about it's in's and outs. All friendly folks who enjoy helping and working together. We'd be glad to have you if you are looking for an FC to call home. The FC is "PGS Corps" tag: PGS. Send me a message in-game if you'd be interested in joining. My in-game name is Deucalion Promethuson. I'll be on from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm Central Time this evening. Thanks and have fun with the game!

With the current community ingame it can be hard to find an FC to make friends, but you just have to keep looking. In 1.0 I went through a few FCs, and at ARR launch I jumped to a EU server, but I didn't feel at home there (with an old 1.0 LS/FC) I guess I was just away from them too long. So I jumped again when I could, and I am now happy with the same group I had when 1.0 went down.
One thing you could do is if you need to learn any content, Ex mode primals, Coil, Second Coil etc, pop a party recruitment up in PF and label it as a learning party, you will get much more friendly people joining, and you could even make some friends.
I've come to the conclusion that because of the way this game is set up (coil/weekly lockout/need of static groups, etc) and because of the player base (one shot kill only!, be experienced or be kicked!, etc) the social aspect of this game is bad. It's like you have to play with a set of close friends or play with no friends at all. And after playing since release its making me lose interest in the game because it's just no longer fun playing alone.

I'm only mildly curious, but have you changed at all from the person who made this thread:
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-tanky-healers
If not then you should change yourself first, and then look for a nice FC to join after.
Just read all the pages.
This was easily the highlight.
My home FC is like this as well and the FCs I'm in with my alts on other servers are friendly too. So they are out there on every server, I'm guessing. I suggest looking at the server sub-forums to see what FCs are recruiting and what their theme/play style is.I've come to the conclusion that because of the way this game is set up (coil/weekly lockout/need of static groups, etc) and because of the player base (one shot kill only!, be experienced or be kicked!, etc) the social aspect of this game is bad. This is what I want but can't seem to find in this game.![]()
