Second setence, ...er...what? I get you want the summons to look more like FFXI, but even in FFXI the summons never did that. Why the special snowflake syndrome here? Fine how bout this, as a warrior tank I want a berserk mode that when I activate every single person in the zone can here me shout and the moon goes blood red. That is kind of what you are asking for and sounds really ridiculous.

You're half right with that statement. The power is determined by will. By knowledge, by wisdom, and by practice. But magic does follow various laws. It doesn't break laws, merely bends them to the fullest definition. Conjurers don't use magic, they borrow it in full form from nature. Thaumaturges take magic, lensing it through their staves or scepters to cast spells. Arcanists shape magic, arranging aether through complex geometric forms to form spells and constructs. Magic is not a cure-all with no limits, or else there wouldn't be a quests involving people who would DIE if they tried to use magic.

It would be cool if each job had an ultimate ability that caused weather and environmental affects like the Warrior going into berserk mode and blood red moon appeared during a battle.
