I still haven't unlocked the pvp quest. FF and PVP just doesn't sit right with me.

They should have had PVP from the start instead of introducing it in a patch.
That said, the only way to revive PVP now is to introduce some 8v8 battlegrounds. When you make PVP more like a fun sports game instead of a competitive battle where newbies always lose to better players, more people will try it. I think obvious choices like capture the flag would be pretty easy to implement/balance and fun to boot.

I've never been able to get into PvP anything, really, at least not too much. I played RIFT for awhile though and had a blast as a rogue. If they add some sort of large scale objective games I'll probably give it a go.
Wolve's Den summed up in 1 image:
But as others have mentioned I never had interest in PVP to begin with, never bothered unlocking the quest either.
The last FC I was in the leader decided all he wanted to do was PVP, 3 weeks later the FC disbanded.
Elder Scrolls Online apparently has the best PVP in MMO history. It's a Final Fantasy game, pvp has never been a priority which is why 2.0 wasn't launched with it. Final Fantasy 11 was the same way. PvP was added for the minority who believe that no mmo is complete without pvp.
I hate to say this but if you want a pvp fix you may need to keep a game like Guild Wars on the side. As far as I know, only the Guild Wars series was built from the bottom up to have balanced pvp that is equally as important as their pve (in some cases more important than pve).

I think even all the old regulars i used to see are waiting for new content as they have already reached the highest level & Got the gear.
The PVP added to this game was wrong in so many ways for a PVE game or even a PVE/PVP game.
If the game was PVP ONLY well it would of had a chance with certain small changes (that is if it was open world pvp, arena, i forget that other one 50vs50/100vs100 hold the spot battlefild type.) all the PVP stuff they added would of been great.
So not many seasoned MMO players will not like it enough to play Or prioritise it over PVE content.
I'd like to add a future contender to best PVP in mmo history
Welcome to Black Desert 검은사막: http://massively.joystiq.com/2013/10...-pvp-detailed/
PVP on horseback, was claims of Large scale castle seige 400 vs 400 - Guild alliance pvp., open world pvp.
(yes i know the games in beta & Korea only ATM (eng client & ps4 version tho are in the works apparently) & yes like all mmos mistakes have been made class & race & gender & Balance wise currently.)

I just hope SE keeps to their word that PvP will not be required to get gear that is better than stuff you get in PvE areas.
I love pvp in games, but this one needs some work running around in circle chasing a healer and getting slept isn't baller. They need to make more counter moves and skills to make it feel more engaging. Besides the best way to get pve players to play pvp is to force them to play, by making pvp the only way to attain a special item for the zodiac upgrade in future patches like the atma grind now, lol.
For good reason. They understand the fun to be had in numbers and freedom. I have a feeling at least some of the devs play/played PvP in WoW and realized the mechanics that work, specifically Alterac Valley. A large scale battle, lots of players (40v40), objective based tasks, and NPC involvement. I hate to single out WoW in that previous statement, but it's very unique thought in what it does right. Some players don't realize how impactful and fun large battles (with simple objectives) are, but most don't realize how NPC involvement helps the experience. NPCs allow players on both sides to either see how chaotic large armies fighting each other and they help keep things going the way it's supposed to (less likely to be one-sided). There's also the level boosting, which I've only experienced with SWTOR, and it was beautiful... absolutely beautiful. I'd imagine ESO shares that same level of fun.
SE needs to understand that limiting the terrain too much is a lot more detrimental to this game than they think. The current zones just feel so boxed, and for large PvP battles, that can be really bad. It's like I'm playing Dirge of Cerberus again.
