I never did the quest for that. Not interested on PvP in a FF game.
PvP never really interested me in the first instance. I've yet to step into the Wolves Den since my brief trip to complete the access quest... and even then only for the XP on a lower level class. I know there are some people who really covet stuff like this in their games, but FF has never been strongly PvP oriented so I don't really see it taking off for the majority of players.
"I don't want this, so nobody else should have it". Is that your final answer?
I for one hope that SE eventually reworks pvp a bit to revive it. I'd love to get my hands on some of that pvp gear, as it looks absolutely amazing.
they need room space on servers to bring stuff like individual house, or more content, well they can have that space by removing stuff nobody is using like PvP for example....
if they don't mention they removed it, nobody will mention it before a couple of weeks probably....![]()
I have a feeling PVP will see a bit of a revival when large scale battles are released. PVP is usually some what of a niche crowd in most MMOs. The problem is SE has it in the extreme scale (Arena 4v4) where most people even are in the casual scene, and enjoy the big battle objective fights. I enjoyed some PVP in WoW, but haven't touched it in FFXIV because of this honestly. I even did some Arena in WoW, but don't plan on it here in FFXIV unless the future large scale battles reel me in more.
I'd like to try PvP at some point but I feel like i just don't have the time. I'm too busy with Atmas and Coil and crafting. Also, agreed with those who said it needs a little more love and attention first. I miss the FF11 PvP campaigns where it was basically a sport. Plus I think people need a little more motivation to do it, like having a tournament or something.
We get some battlefield type PvP in the next patch which I think will be more objective based (like capture the flag and shit). As far as I know this is going to be a slow release of PvP content with the first revamp hitting in 3 months.
We know they have no intention of removing PvP from the game or not building off of what they already have given that they are (in a month or so for 2.25) rebalancing PvP and adding in the animal set for PvP gear.
They may possibly wipe PvP stats (level and current PvP $$$) give that it is currently the least used function in the game and to make it a more even playing field when they release the new PvP stuff. That and I'm pretty sure that other than people who queue with friends and stuff, not a lot of people have PvP gear/ranks/skills/points/anything.
I love being primary target in this arena-based PvP. Because Kiting and spamming Regen is the bestest thing ever to do with my time.
Thing is FF might not be a PvP game (well, since only 1 was online and the rest was offline) Yoshi-P is a big fan of PvP and he is thinking about ways to make PvP fun and engaging here tooIt's a Final Fantasy game, pvp has never been a priority which is why 2.0 wasn't launched with it. Final Fantasy 11 was the same way. PvP was added for the minority who believe that no mmo is complete without pvp.
I hate to say this but if you want a pvp fix you may need to keep a game like Guild Wars on the side. As far as I know, only the Guild Wars series was built from the bottom up to have balanced pvp that is equally as important as their pve (in some cases more important than pve).
