now he isn't mmo are games that are played over time the longer you stick to an mmo the better. Playing longer just means you get stuff done much quicker.

And i wasn't saying he was right or wrong, just he was being rude. And it is true also not all casual players solo. I used to play ffxi 2 hrs a day and still joined parties. This was when getting a group was much faster.

I don't grind to socialize. The people I grind with don't socialize either. Too hard to talk while running to the next mob. And why are you grinding if you are going to complain about "leveling too fast" is beyond me. And obvious statement about wasting time is obvious. Only time you talk is to say "pull faster pls".

That's... not how efficiency works. If a quest rewards you more exp than grinding mobs per unit time, it's more efficient. It doesn't matter how much walking, talking, and not-killing you do if, after an hour, you end up with more exp from doing the quest.

Did you not play FFXI? lol Everyone only has speculation, and because this game is from the people who produced FFXI, I'm going to assume grinding after the guild leve change will be more efficient than any quests that will ever be made.

uhhhhhh ffxi had no sp/exp reward for 90% of quests, so i would think the fact that they want quests to give sp means it wont be the same. That said i dont mind if grinding gives slightly better exp than other methods, but i dont think any method should become the defacto only decent way to level. And i dont really think grinding is the best answer to progression for the game long term either. I really think pointless murdering as the main means of progression in MMOs needs to stop, the problem with quests of course is after the first few times, its just as much of a grind, so they need to look at some new progression models, or just have a lot of different ones, so the grind doesnt seem the same.

LOL, last time I heard that was about five years ago in a gobbie party in Yhoator Jungle. People still say that? Old-fashioned grinding is old-fashioned.

Did you not read the Producer's Letter? lol

We still have some ways to go, but FINAL FANTASY XIV will gradually shift from being a grind-centric game to one that offers enjoyment for all playing styles and circumstances with its ever-expanding variety of content.

Since you played FFXI, if you played 2 hours a day, yes, you could do some things, but if you were in an HNM LS where the REAL good stuff was, then no, you would haven't made it a week.

Whenever there's the possibility of a mob taking 4 hours to spawn, you need to play hardcore.

The casuals are like sheep to us hardcore, just get to know your place.

Now that we're done witht hat I have come up with a good amount of ideas of implementing a bunch of ways to exp while being able to explore a variety of ways to get it.

Will be in OP soon as I collect the good ideas from here.

    Grinding is grinding either way.

You still believe everything SE says? ^-^ I go by their actions, not alone by their words. I love how you all know how the content will be when it isn't even released yet. I wish I was a dev too ^-^

The OP has been updated, and I do believe it to be the start of a very good idea to be implemented
