    Gath... Whats up?
I'd like to see the leveling from partying be the fastest way to get exp...
In conjunction, I'd like beast MOBs, bandits, assassin's, soldiers and poachers everywhere...
Less marmots and rats, more Kobolds....
Less mitelings, more sylphs and poachers....

They've been adding in Amal'jaa and thats good.. but I'd like to see more.... with way more grinding spots

I totally agree, but would like to have something we can work for, like ISP from ToAU, but add their own twist

When I ge home from work I'll compile a mess of ideas from this topic and update the OP

Yeah, partying is very good when it comes to community structure, it helps everybody get to know how awesome I am (;O) and it helps people help others with their job/class through constructive criticism.

Later today I am going to get with Clashblades and compile all the ideas and corporate good ideas that we come up with as a good social structure for partying and exping.

I don't understand this reasoning. What's the difference between grinding quests and grinding mobs? To me, it's all the same.
Could you explain why you like grinding mobs more?

as long as i dun have to party with rydin. he smells like bacon. hehe j/k man. i'd party with him as long as he keeps herb away.

but on a more serious note. i just feel there needs to be a more varied way to leveling than just either this or struggle. we need multiple ways to level so that not any one particular thing becomes boring. variety will make the leveling system seem like not as much of a grind because you are not doing the same single thing repeatedly.

Are they going to have instance dungeons and none instance dungeons as well? I like how in FF11 you could go into a dungeon and feel like you can die at any moment. (needing a party) to go in and explore / kill your way into the dungeon itself to find rewards. and that you can maybe get quests that lead you to these dungeons as part of the story line quests with rewads to progress through the game in some way. They should have dungeon levequests also and be able to get gear rewards for killing a NM in the dungeon with a group or something as well? I really dont like this instance thing though, but i guess for the people who just want to jump in and do a 1 hour thing and log out it would be a good thing. To do this they would need a random group invite for quick gameplay to make this work better. (like in wow instances) As people seem to not make groups very well or hate taking the time to shout out or even use the find party features. I seen alot of MMO's that have this find party feature and people just dont us it. In Everquest they rather stand in a zone and wait for people to come into that area and put the /lfg tag on.

Just some thoughts, maybe get something out of this that everyone agrees on?

I'm more against the traditional quest grinding, WoW, for example, but with mob grinding you get to know the community and the different cultures that it brings with it. That way, by end game, you make new friends that you can do stuff together with and it ends up being like the small town where everybody knows each other. Mob grinding parties are as good for you as it is the growth of a community.

Saying that opens up a plethora of questions; Will it be group based questing? Will it be mob-grinding parties? Will it be a mix of both? or will there be some anomaly of which we never heard?

If they make it group based questing at hubs then they defeat the purpose of getting rid of leves, unless they do it the right way. I don't want to run back and forth between one NPC and a group of mobs to collect some collection of items or just kill a group of different things, that would just be leves with a new name. I honestly don't know a good way to implement this so please enlighten me with a good idea on how the questing should be.

Group parties to grind on mobs is a fantastic idea, it promotes party play and helps get the community closer together so the server in a whole can stop hating each other as much and start working as a unified solidity for server progression (Lindblum is a better server than all the others ;O) This would also instate a better way of recruiting players that are a bit better for end game linkshells. It would show parties or players how certain people play the game, i mean actions do speak louder than words, right?

There's also the possibility of dungeon grinding to exp, of course I do want a 24 hour lockout timer per completion or failure of the dungeon, but with decent exp rewards for killing dungeon mobs, and even more for downing bosses, with more exp depending on the difficulty of the boss you're facing. This idea doesn't need implemented if they do a good job with party based groups or party based quest hubs of some nature.

This all being said, I would love to hear what the community thinks about this decision to take leves away form party based groups and give it to casuals or someone who doesn't have a lot fo time on their hands to get a decent little turd of exp.

So have at it, and please, no flaming SE, this thread is for an open discussion about good ways to implement the "new" way we will be leveling.

be respectful and don't fight, it makes you all look fat.
Who cares about casual players? I care since I am one. This is a game and it's meant to have fun. it's you hardcore people that spend hours in on a game that have a problem.

They just need to make sure they put in a viable "looking for party" and "seeking" system in place. As long as we have that, it will be easy for us to group together and go out and get parties together, whether that be a raptor grind, or copperbell/nanawa or whatever.

This is true. All that's needed to create (or keep) a good community is group content that is accessible, rewarding and fun.
