Me either, quest grinding is something I don't want from this, I want a mix of grinding with a reward for killing mobs like the beastmen tribes will give you certain currency as a bounty reward from an npc for certain beastmen type gear and whatnot

I don't understand this reasoning. What's the difference between grinding quests and grinding mobs? To me, it's all the same.
Could you explain why you like grinding mobs more?

I'm more against the traditional quest grinding, WoW, for example, but with mob grinding you get to know the community and the different cultures that it brings with it. That way, by end game, you make new friends that you can do stuff together with and it ends up being like the small town where everybody knows each other. Mob grinding parties are as good for you as it is the growth of a community.

More like, you don't have to move from one centralized spot, and for questing, you have to move around a lot and waste time by talking to npcs/completing objectives that slow down leveling. Mob grinding is more efficient.

leveling should be about having fun not the mindless "best exp per hr" Which most ppl complain they level "too fast". The best exp/hr mindset removes most social aspect of grouping as talking and/or waiting for people to rest up wastes time. Playing a game wasytes time

I don't grind to socialize. The people I grind with don't socialize either. Too hard to talk while running to the next mob. And why are you grinding if you are going to complain about "leveling too fast" is beyond me. And obvious statement about wasting time is obvious. Only time you talk is to say "pull faster pls".

LOL, last time I heard that was about five years ago in a gobbie party in Yhoator Jungle. People still say that? Old-fashioned grinding is old-fashioned.

Did you not read the Producer's Letter? lol

We still have some ways to go, but FINAL FANTASY XIV will gradually shift from being a grind-centric game to one that offers enjoyment for all playing styles and circumstances with its ever-expanding variety of content.

All the shortcomings of classic MMO design and the "hardcore" playerbase that comes with it in a single short sentence. Well done.
