Should be able resell your house, to get your gil back. That way if you decide to come back you can buy another house again. You could probably resell higher than you paid for if you upgrade the home.

Either way I feel 35 days long enough for any size of FC to at least walk in and out of the homes they bought. If it was a personal home than it would be a different story.

I look at it this way. If an FC and all of its members are offline for 35 days, where is the assurance that they'll be back? What if all of the members left the FC and the leader of the FC stopped playing? Then you have a house just sitting there doing nothing.

I mean, it's not like any large number of members or an officer of a high rank has to check in every 35 days, but seriously. I don't find it to be that major. If anything, it'll clear out spaces so new FCs can establish bases. 35 days is VERY generous, considering the conditions. Hell, I'd even be content with 21 or even 14 days.

That's a slippery slope, because then all of the gil would be refunded to the FC leader, who might log in one day and find he has a couple hundred million gil sitting in his mailbox six months later. It's not like it would go to any of the officers or members that contributed to that FC.

I had an issue a few months back where the leader of the FC I was in quit playing, wouldnt turn over leadership and he was only one with access to the bank. Long story short, he logged in one day and took all the money to "Prevent it from going to someone else" but never gave it back to the people who can given it for a FC house. If he ever starts playing again he will have a nice 9 million or so to play with....

Basically its a tricky situation, and I am not sure giving the money is a good idea. Maybe a "deed" for a new plot the same size would be ok, but not cash.

I don't want to pay a subscription just so our house won't get deleted. We plan to come back and keep experiencing a multitude of games. Keeping my subscription open just so I don't play it is ridiculous.

If for some reason I did lose my FC house I would buy another. It just isn't me in the FC atm. I have people come over to my house and hang out. Heck some even stay the night ^^.

As for personal housing no one really knows the details that I know of. Are Personal houses going to be like FFXI Mog Houses, Where everyone can get one and you only see the inside? Or are there going to be Wards that players can walk around in and see what other players have? More than likely seeing as how SE can't even handle adding more Wards, Personal Housing is going to end up being some kind of Inn room that you can add a few furnishings to. So back to your question if Personal Housing ends up being crap I'll just stick with a FC house.

I don't think Gil Refund would work....

I would say a refund in Gil but many FCs bought houses at the max and some at the lowest, so there would be an issue. Do you get what you paid or do you get lower? Then some would get upset if they didn't get a full refund of what they paid. And then if it was the case of a full refund of what we paid, People could abuse it. An FC who bought a large house for 89mil gets it all back and then only has to pay 59mil to buy another.... So I think extending the time or a Deed/Permit to the FC leader would be the best.

I'm still 1 month is to short. I'd make it 3 months.

While we're talking about things being on a timer I want auto log out back but ONLY if it is on a THREE hour timer (1/2hr was to short).

But... I've played f2p games that had no difficultly increasing housing after all lots were bought so... why FFXIV so stingy about the cyber space used for this? Can't just make more housing? I can't remember a single mmo that said, "we need to make cut backs in the housing to many are being bought!"

You do realize the apples to oranges comparison your making right? Your character is a bit of code on a server that is only accessed when YOU log in. At no other time is it used or needed.

Your FC house is rendered every time someone walks by it, which is totally and completely separate from YOU being in the game. The contents of your yard, style of house etc is all needed pretty much all the time.

Just because you can say something you think is witty doesn't make it true or logical.

you're saying there is a difference between how much resources is used if 5 wards are full of active fc's to 5 wards of not active fc's?

they take up just as much when it comes down to it they are just taking them so they don't have to make more wards not because *you don't need it*
