Materia crafting will go live on patch 1.19, which is also a major patch. The crafting recipe will be totally changed, and the status (abilities) of crafted items will be reconsidered (means: renewed).

Can you elaborate if the entire crafting system will be redone, or only a few crafting aspects/recipes tweaked? This translation is a bit unclear.

Back on topic...thanks a lot Kristina. Really nice information. But something came to my attention, seems that we'll have to wait a lot more for Chocobos/mounts. Other than that, everything seems nice.

Patch 1.18 has very large volume that cannot be explained all in one producer's letter. So they plan to post the one new feature per week until patch goes live.

I'm guessing the XI letter was the first one?

sorry but seems like it, MRD and ARC left, it seems like ARC will get thief and MRD doesnt seem like a "light DD".

what about the "combined classes"? maybe Thief possibly be from combined jobs, idk MRD+ARC = THF :P!!

Since the original wording is "全入れ替えし", in ordinary it means all of the referred thing (the recipes) will be "replaced". If that is the case, this can explain why the crafting planners keep silence in the past 6 months....

i love how everyone believes that archer will get bard with no evidence. For those of you lets say over the age of 16 (i'm 21) if you remember the first Big Brother U.S.A. "expect the unexpected" thats xiv right now lol.
