1/15 For Electrum Choker(ilv49) since 2.0 on Tier IV
Thank you for your hard work, I am finding it very useful ^^10 out of 36 tier IV from ilv 55 or 27.777% (usually armorers head, body, hands, legs, feet, Militia OH)
In the other slots I wear:
-- whatever crafted one that isn't too hard to make (ilv43-48) to SB {tier 2 or 3 is welcome for max melds and selling - I sold 8 for 34k each last night}
-- low level (5-10ish) waist, neck, ear, wrist purchased from vendors {tier 1 materia isn't cheap, and I've needed lots to max meld, also it only takes like 100 cobalt ingots to 100%}
-- aetherite rings {I don't convert these but I wear them because the spirit bond bonus is valuable - I get elemental materia too often}
I know I'm mostly talking to myself here, but it's helpful for me to track results, and I hope someone else finds it useful too ;p
[EDIT] You have a lot of patience lol, can't believe you craft so much lol, AFK craft?
Useless to add, since from 2.0 until 2.1, only ilevel 55+ items could turn into Tier IVs.
From 2.0 to 2.1 converts were
Tier I = ilevel 1-29
Tier II = ilevel 30-44
Tier III = ilevel 45+
Tier IV = a small chance at ilevel 55+, ilevel 70 for garunteed(though just read about this, never converted ilevel 70s myself)
After 2.1 It seems any of the ilevel ranges has a small chance of converting to the next higher Tier materia.
For what it worth, I have been making materia out of the storebought crafting gear. Pop into Mor Dhona, buy a few sets, then pop out to wherever I want to go spiritbinding. I have noticed that the i46 chest, gloves, belt, legs, and feet always gave tier 3 and rarely tier 4 materia, but the i45 hat was giving me tier 2 materia - needless to say I stopped bothering with the hat. I did not keep track of the numbers of sets I've converted and how many tier 4 materia I've gotten from those i46 pieces though.
I wait until I have a lot of leves and/or very little gil (with 100 leves I'm certain I can make 800,000gil profit). I make a couple of sets of the 6 pieces of ilv 55 gear, and make or buy the other 5 or 6 pieces. I quick syth stacks of cobalt ingots and do the repeatable leve in St Coinachs (which rewards mats for cobalt ingots). I QS them while I'm waiting for unspoiled nodes, taking the dogs out, waiting for DF, getting a snack, or brb. Running back and forth to the vendor is tedious - best when waiting for DF
I profit nicely from the leve (1,500gil for 9 cobalt ingots, which are almost free to make), and sell or use the materia. On my server Tier IV craftsmanship materia has been over 100k, and Tier 1 materia have been 5k.
3 stacks (33 leves) of ingots is usually enough to 100% SB the 6 ilv 55 pieces, 2 ilv 43 main hands, and the 4 level pieces 3 times each. 1.5 Tier IV X 50k, 6.5 tier III X 15k, and 12 tier I X 5k = 230,000 gill in materia.
33 leves x 1,500 gil reward = 49,500gil.
As far as items needed and rewards: I Usually I get about as much cobalt ore as I use. I often come up short on Ice Shards, but have lots of extra Earth Shards to sell. I use the Mossy Horns to make the Moss Horn Armor, which sells for a nice profit. I buy a bunch of stacks of iron ore from the vendor (1,782 a stack).
Thanks for this. I tried this before, but it felt too time consuming, especially when my playing hours on the weekdays are spent on Second Coil, and my weekends are spent on Second Coil/EM Primals/crafting raid food.I wait until I have a lot of leves and/or very little gil (with 100 leves I'm certain I can make 800,000gil profit). I will hope to have some time to get back to this, when I've got the new raids nailed down - I have been sitting at 100 leves for the last 3 weeks now!
Actually that isnt quite correct. I only spiritbond electrum stuff (choker, 2 rings) and I got some rank IV materias (CP and Control).Useless to add, since from 2.0 until 2.1, only ilevel 55+ items could turn into Tier IVs.
