Sorry to hijack the thread but if those rings are not craft rings then what is the highest craft item to get me tier 3-4 Crafting materia? Would they be Electrum Rings of Crafting then?

Electrum rings gave tier 3 before 2.1. I don't know if it gives tier 4 after 2.1 as well cause I haven't tested myself but it should considering other level 49-50 gears give tier 3 and 4. Classes other than crafting don't use CP as a resource so I think it's just a identification problem on SE part. Not sure on the militia, haven't converted them myself but they should give the corresponding materia if I recall correctly from older threads.

Yea the Electrum stuff will give Tier 4 materia. I converted my electrum crafting gear once I was able to make HQ aetheryte rings and the militia wristlets, and I def got at least 1 tier 4.
If I want to make crafting (cp, control, craftmanship) materia, (obviously I can get them from crafting gear). Anyone know what (III or IV) you get from what level gear? Will the "Patrician's" set give me III or IV??? How about the "Militia" off hands? The IV control materia was over 70k last night :/
Meanwhile, I made and 100% spirit bound a 3 cobalt hammers by Quick Synthing 4 stacks cobalt ingots to get rid of excess materials and leves (dealing with the tough stuff). Ore and ingots sell absurdly cheap - so the leve was decent profit.
9 ingots = 1 triple turn in leve. 4 stacks of ingots = 44 leves.
44 X 3(triple turn in) X 500gil = 66,000gil
I should have worn junk gear to convert, but instead I was wearing nothing but a hammer**addition** Wearing just a hammer, I was getting 100% spiritbond, and 50% damage after about a stack and a half(?) [more than a stack, less than 2] of cobalt ingots as a lv50 arm.
Interesting but dated thread: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...r-of-the-Realm
My method of profit on the QS items, plus his method of spiritbonding a full set looks like a winning combinationAlas, I've run out of leves :/

I am of the belief that as long as it's i45+, you should be able to get a Tier 4 materia (luck based of course). Using i55 items might yield higher chances of T4 materia. I am planning to experiment with this in the near future. If I want to make crafting (cp, control, craftmanship) materia, (obviously I can get them from crafting gear). I've actually wanted to enquire about this too.
I noticed that I used to get about 40% SB rate from Pharos Sirius wearing just a Gambler's Crown. But since I upgraded my weapon to +1, I was only getting about 30%. Might have to check again, but I feel like I am getting less since I upgraded my weapon.
Patrician's set yield tier III AND IV, same with militia off-hands, and electrum crafting accessories. If I want to make crafting (cp, control, craftmanship) materia, (obviously I can get them from crafting gear). It's all luck, but I'm sure we can agree that higher level gear have hidden stats for more successful tier IV materia conversion.
I did keep some half decent records of an attempt to make materia...
I made a HQ patricians and dodore set, aetherite rings, and a cobalt hammer. I bought the very cheapest materia (earth or water resist) and meded some slots. I unequiped all other gear, except the OH (in case I decided to convert that too).
After attempting 155 cobalt ingots the dodore chest with 3 materia and the patricians hat (overmelded once) reached 100%. Dodore was actually ahead of patricians by at least 4%. The patricians gloves, legs, and feet each with 2 materia were at 90%, and the aetherite rings were only at 45% (HQ) and 38% (NQ), each with 1 materia.
I made another 150 ingots to get the rings to 100%. The HQ ring made it to 100% just before it's condition reached 0, the NQ did not. I'm pretty sure I spirit bonded two cobalt hammers in this time, but I didn't keep track.
The gear with 3 materia (dodore) spirit bonded faster than gear with 2. I overmelded one piece of patricians after the first set of ingots to see if that would make it bond faster, and it did.
When I converted got 5/5 tier III materia from my hq patricians and dodore, which was probably worth less than the gear, and "not worth it" IMO. Maybe unlucky, maybe not?

HQ gives +20% SB over NQ. Every additional materia melded into the gear adds another +20% I believe. HQ +0 materia is equivalent to NQ + 1 materia.
I just introduced a friend of mine to spiritbonding...she got 2x Quicktongue 4 from a set of 5 Turqouise accessories...talk about lucky!
I lvld a WAR simply for using it for Roulette and to spirit bind faster (do to no wait time for IDs). I run full i49 acc all Amber. I generally get Parry lvl3 and Skill Speed lvl 3 as my most frequent. I have gotten Crit,Det and Acc materia as well but less frequently. I have converted well over 50 items and have seen about 5 4s one being a lvl4 VIT which was my biggest money maker yet. I buy all my items because they are cheap and crafting would be boring and time consuming.

Alas, I've run out of leves :/
