Question about lv 50 Gathering Retainer

At level 50 the following happens

3 Woodland Explorations open up which require the following Gathering:
280
323
383

All cost 2 ventures to do and take 18hrs like any woodland exploration.

As for the lv 50 item it's rather lackluster it's just the grade 3 carbonized matter.

So with that in mind it appears quick ventures allow people to obtain items that they could obtain the the 18hr venture, however by doing the 18hr venture you are guaranteed to get an item from that pool list.

Noon tomorrow I"ll figure out what I"ll get with the 383 gathering exploration venture and will share it since I am hoping it'll be something interesting.

As a quick edit not sure if anyone else has figured this out yet but with 385 gathering the quantity gained in all the regular botanist items is 30, (excluding seeds of course)

Lol ya currently my retainer is using my main botanist gear and I even gave my other retainer my main pants/waist/hands just to test out what Conjurer would get at the cap of i70.

Upon the first Woodland Exploration 383 fetch quest I only got the following:
3 Dzemael Tomatoes HQ
3 Allagan Silver Pieces

With those results does seem like they might be unable to obtain the highest tier gathering items but I did send them out again to get a better gauge of results since it is only the first attempt. My Conjurer retainer returns in about 4hrs so I"ll get an idea of what DoW can bring back soon as well.

Chances are they won't gather anything decent from the exploration, I was hoping that the high tier items would be from a specific gathering request.

Seems there is some room for improvement.

I'm surprised you got your retainer to 50 so quick, I;ve only just got mine to 26 and have been seending him on 18 hour explorations as often as I can.
