The origin of Ganth Fyrion's name came from a very sci-fi/science-fantasy heavy dream I once had, one part Fifth Element, one part Outlaw Star and one part Star Trek, where Ganth was a shapeshifting veteran on the losing side of a war that his race instigated. Due to character limitations (and my unwillingness to ramble into detail), I won't go into detail about the dream and the space-faring Fyrion. I have used the name for a Lunar half-caste Beastman in a modern-based Exalted game set in Chiaroscuro. When that went defunct I decided to use the name for a male Miqo'te during the beta.

As for forum name: I used it once before when (now defunct) Secret of the Solstice was in closed beta.

I made my character and then just sort of looked at his face to get the first name. With the Van Dyke facial hair, Oliver just seemed to fit—plus I've always loved that name.
Beelzie is a homage to Beelzebub, my favorite persona in Shin Megami Tensi: Persona 3 and 4. When fusing personae, the resulting persona has the chance of getting any random skills from the previous personae, and I literally spent 3 days of play just in the Velvet Room fusing the damn thing to have the exact skills I wanted. I went with a cuter version of the name, Beelzie, since I'm a diminutive Lalafell and, thus, Beelzebub seemed too mighty and powerful for my FFXIV character.

In FFXI I had a mule named Noergi that received the name by the name generator. As for my first name, I used a name generator for FFXIV and Sabba was a portion of it. I really wanted to use Noergi since I always liked the sound of it, so Sabba Noergi was born. Not the most interesting story though.

Kinda wish I hadn't gone with Ellen, but I wanted my character to sound kind of military. I just went with randomized last names until I got one I liked.
