I'm saying that it's not working if you have a one in ten thousand chance of being paid for stacking heavy things all day. It's exploitation.

I know atma-defenders are a pretty undiscerning lot (i mean, you'd have to be) but like, if you don't know what the difference is between working and gambling, do you really HAVE to come to the forums and post...?

And, uh, hate to break it to you, but hoping for bindings of the windseeker, undisputed best melee hunter weapon and functionally unnecessary for any real purpose and instantly obsolete after the release of BWL, doesn't really compare to trying to get the baseline starting endgame weapon you're intended to pursue to continue progression raiding. Again, try to understand very basic differences between unrelated ideas before posting. Thank you in advance.

Careful what you wish for. 270 dungeons for 9 books, if you're speed running(10-15 mins) turns into 2700-4050 minutes or 45-67.5 hours of myth farming. Which doesn't take into account the 2-3+ hours completing each book takes. The time sink spent on atma is nothing compared to what you'll be spending on books. Personally it took 15 hours of playtime to farm all 12 atma so the 2nd part will take 3-4x the amount of time the atma did.

All in all I'd rather not run repetitive mind numbing material for an upgrade.

To put your stacking boxes job example into perspective. It's more like Person A and B both have to stack boxes. They're not told when their shift will be over, however, and they don't get paid until their shift is over (fixed pay). However, Person A is told his shift is over after he piled 4 boxes in 30 minutes. Person B is told his shift is over after working 10 hours, stacking around 80 boxes.

Atma is totally random, you spend time grinding it, but you're out of there in either 10 minutes, or 10 hours. I believe that's the issue that's grinding people's gears. It's not challenging in any sense, it's mind-numbingly boring and you get nothing else out of it, save for a small amount of seals and gil. It would be nice to at least see the seals/gil reward multiplied by some amount to alleviate the sense of accomplishing nothing.

I'd do it for spiritbonding gear, but Level 20 FATE's can't exactly help me spiritbond my Lv45+ Gathering gear.

Why do you run dungeons? Why do you fight bosses in game? Why do you level up a virtual char instead of doing something irl? Grinding for an item, even with little chance is the same, stop complaining about it already. Every ff had grinding, if it's not your cup of tea don't do it. I had fun seeing how nice the open world is with the fate grinding, and levelled up my chocobo, i liked it, got a sh@@ ton of gil too, no more being poor!

ppl can begin to do it in the next update because the old content will be ease up, ppl should stop rush & complain

Seals is gil atm, so I am fine with the way it is beside the 1,5k myth / book can be pain in the ass, but 5 sr and do it 3 time/day or 2 will reach there eventually

If you have work, school and important things to do - and can only spend your time for an hour for this game - then Atma FATE grinding is definitely not easy. It's funny of how people who don't have to worry about job, school or real life has amount of guts to say such things really.

You just got tagged by a grp of White Knights that specialize in your type of suituation. Your *excuses* will be countered by saying something along the lines *.... I know someone like you but he still manage...* or *...atma is not for you...*

You need to run and hide. Or you could sell your soul.

I'm betting that 90% of the people who advocate this horrible Atma system are people who already have their weapon unlocked. The people who complain are those who have been in the same zone for SIX HOURS and still not found a single atma. Yes. This happened.

It's undefendable. It's based entirely on luck, meaning some people might never actually get their atmas (or more realistically they'll get bored of trying), and it's not even as though you can level up another job while working on them so that the Fates themselves might actually be rewarding. No, you have to do it on a class using a Zenith weapon.

It's a shoddy implementation. It's not fun, it's not rewarding, it's not even progressive since there's no guarantee how long it will take you to get that next Atma. Maybe you're one of the masochistic types who loves doing the same fates 24 hours a day with no reward in sight, but do try not to bring us all to your level of idiocy. At least see it for what it is: A poorly thought out grind to artificially extend the lifespan of the game.

As for the doubtless brilliantly minded fools who just say "get an alternative weapon" I say this. These are your upgrades. Like it or not, the Zodiac weapons are upgradeable and ultimately will be customizable which means that whether you grind now or later, the grind is inevitable. Levi weapons are filler, nothing more and nothing less. Great if you don't own a Zodiac, but pointless for all but cosmetic purposes in the long haul. If you think you're being smart and 'avoiding the grind' by getting your lucky Levi drop, you obviously can't see very far ahead.
