That depends on how you look at it, really. RNG is in many ways the MOST fair you can possibly get in a game of this type, that's why it's so often used.

For procs and damage rolls? Sure. For quest progression? Nah, there are much much better ways to do progression, many which have already been mentioned in the feedback thread.

I love Final Fantasy too, doesn't mean I have to come up with silly justifications for every bad decision they make. I got my Atma on Monday, it was still a badly designed quest that only rewarded my luck, it's just plain bad.
