Non-crafters only: Are you happy with the vanity system?

Wow I actually read this entire. I'm really bored at work. But to me it just sounds like the op is in a higher priced economy. I'm not a crafter, i just do low lvl stuff for the real crafters in my fc. When ever I want to glamour something i get the mats and ask someone to make them for me. An easy it only takes a few min to get whats needed. Multiple people have given the same advice.

yesterday I glamoured my head, chest, arms, legs, and feet for 17k (roughly). 3 armorer prisms, 1 goldsmith, 1, weaver. all tier 2 and 1 tier 3. Thats roughly 3.5k per. the tier 5 were only 5.5k at the most (yesterday). A trip to the aesthetician for 2k. Effed it up there so another 2k.

21k total.

As another poster said, barter with friends, farm mats for players. Make friends with a crafter. There are ways to ease the burden. Take a break from whatever you are doing and farm gil (which is easy).

Im not complaining because I can afford it but on our server ypu lucky to get 2 prisms for 21k lol.

too lazy to craft. too lazy to figure out what the markup is.

roughly 5k to glamour each piece on my server. it's the lazy man tax. i'll pay it when something is really ugly.

Nope, with a large FC as yours getting mats and clear prisms is in fact cheap and having a FC member make them for you bypasses the current inflated prices on your server.

Not all crafters are what you call greedy. If the crafters in your FC are, thats sad for the amount of members. I still make HQ Gathering/Crafting AF for my members because the cost of the mats are cheaper than the Market HQ prices.

You have a "great FC" and you can ask them to make you the prisms?

Right now the market is up because everything is new. For crafters, this is currently fantastic, because let me tell you, 2.1 was terrible for making money crafting. When 2.3 comes out, everything will suck again, because people will be saving up for personal housing, therefore willing to pay less, and prices will plummet. Economies go up and down. Just wait a bit, and the prices of glamours will come down for you.

In addition, some people, myself included, think that crafting looks so mind numbingly boring, they have no desire to level 2-4 crafting classes to 50 to be able to make these prisms.

I know right? leveling crafters is so ******* boring.
