Non-crafters only: Are you happy with the vanity system?

Yep, still lazy and looking for a hand out. The best solution is to level crafters yourself (its much easier and faster to do that than level DoW or DoM classes), or, since this is an MMO...make friends...but no, no one can spend the time to do that, especially with someone who is willing to make crafts cheap for people.

Thanks for your kind suggestions, however I don't need them. I actually have a friend who is in my FC that makes me free prisms, even after I offer to give him gil in exchange. I've also purchased a few from the market boards during the times when he wasn't online and I didn't want to wait.

I'm simply acknowledging the OP's point of view instead of calling him lazy and claiming he wants hand outs like you did.

OP crafters aren't charging over the odds, they are just making a profit, it takes a lot of time and effort to farm all the materials.

Non crafters always forget that when crafters have to resort to buying materials it will increase prices, so just keep that in mind next time you are selling the treasure-map exclusive materials at the marketwards

Oh don't worry, by the time you get your crafters to 50, most people will already undercut it down below the cost. Then you tell me after all the expensive and time-consuming process (like you claimed) you did to level crafters to 50 where your profit was.

I think the biggest point to this whole argument is that this is an optional thing. You are complaining about something you do not remotely need to spend Gil on. SE has done a really good job of making sure that crafting is not needed for 95% of the games content. The only 3 areas it really comes to play in are the Relic quest, Housing and Vanity. Why do you begrudge the crafters for making money on something that you can simply live without? Economy is driven off demand, if you don't want it, don't buy in. Eventually the cost of prisms will drop to near production cost just like everything else on the market and you will be able to glamour just about any outfit for the Gil you make in 1 extreme roulette.

dear, it take other items to craft them too... how much do those mats cost on your server?

For example... 1 prism and 2 toad leather cost 1400 then you also need 2 crystals... but the prism sells for 2400 ... Seems perfectly acceptable.

Like ANYTHING in a MMO the newer it is the more people want it and the higher they will pay. Once it calms down prices will not be artificially inflated by the people lacking patience.

Doing 1 dungeon will net you enough for at least one prism... and if it doesn't, perhaps you should farm up some mats from the local monsters, sell them or trade them to a friend or guild mate to make those prisms for you nice and cheap, there is no need to rage at people for simply playing the game ^_^

You sit in one spot and either quick synth a ton of items (and have some of which fail, wasting your mats) or you sit there and hammer a few buttons while banging your head against your desk to stay awake.

My Pug is level 20. I've been waiting to finish leveling him so I could use the Bohemian set the rest of the way to 50. So, my choices are to spend 25-50K on some crappy level 20 gear and then stick with this crappy gear all the way to 50 (gimping every group I join) or spend an additional 5-10K every time an upgrade drops for me. Or, I can do what I now have to, just forget the idea of looking how I want because I can't stand the fact that greedy crafters own this QoL feature.

all kidding aside, it really just sounds like your whining because glamour isn't free. 10k to glamour an entire set of gear really isn't that much. Crafters had NOTHING except Culinarians who made money off of food.

I think you have "fast and easy" and "mind numbingly boring" confused. Besides....

Please, I leveled all craft to 50 before they even tweaked the EXP for leves. It's not hard to do nor take a lot of time to do so. And I made a ton of money leveling them.

You would know better than I, having already leveled them all (and in no time making tons of money to boot!). So, I'll power level them and then sell prisms at cost. The profit will be the people complaining about the crash.

Honestly, your server must be better than mine. I've seen single prisms on mine selling for $10k+. Unless, you want your gear to look like low-level starting gear, that equates to roughly $50,000 to glamour one set of gear.
