Equip your Zenith weapon. But even when you do equip it, there is a chance you will be there for another 10 hours waiting and hoping the atma will drop. You don't meet people because no one talks. They leave when they get their atma. They even leave the healers to die when the healer was kind enough to heal them (happened to me 3 times, so I stopped healing period). This isn't what we wanted. This is them forcing us to do fates again. That's why it's in the quest to open CT.

the problem with this is that it has so little reflection on endgame or skill or any kind. I don't mind a grind. I don't mind a challenge. I do mind it being so luck based.

This isn't skill/gear check like the Hard mode primals, this is a time sink and the worse kind too since its just a lottery.

I got my thyrus atma in 2 days but that was just luck. some areas I got an atma on the first fate; others took hours, and no rhyme or reason to it. While others I know in my FC still don't have any atmas.

I'll say again I don't mind a grind, I just would like to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Tell me after 100 fates I'm guaranteed an atma, or if I do XYZ my drop rate increases. But don't just throw me into the wilds with a d20 and tell me to pray for a natural crit

what kind of deduction? it's pretty normal to get no Atmas in 2 hours.

There's no deduction involved. I got my first Atma drop in hour 23 of grinding, with Zenith equipped the entire time.

All of this. maybe trade a rare fate dropped crystal to one of the altars of the 12 scattered throughout eorzea and fight some incarnation of the zodiac/twelve and then everyone get an atma?

I don't know if u guys ever played ff11, but if u did do u remember how the mystic wepons were and the gear farming were? where u had to go to different ebsy time zones to get pieces for your gear and such? well that was great I think. If this atma system was like that or something like that would be awesome. I think a lot of ppl would like that. not trying to bring back ff11 just they idea of the gear/wep farming in ff11 it should be something like that on 14 with a little twist I think.
