What's your current rotation? If people are complaining about that, ignore rude comments where constructive criticism should be, but by all means check if your rotation is good. If they're complaining about your gear, ignore them completely.

On BLM, I do:

-Thunder II
-Fire 3
-Fire 1 until around 500mp while using Firestarter and Thunder 3 for Thundercloud
-Blizzard 3
-Reapply THunder if needed, rinse and repeat

My Burst Rotation is
-Set up like above
-Use Raging Strikes at around 1.6kmp
-Keep going
-Normal cast Flare at around 500mp
-Convert
-Swiftcast Flare
-Transpose

AoE Rotation is:
Fire 3
Fire 2
Flare when MP is low.

That's the rotation I've been working on pretty much word for word. My reaction time on it is a bit sluggish and I occasionally fat finger because I haven't built up the muscle memory yet. The complaints have pretty much been all about gear and Hp. It is good to know I'm working on the current rotation though.


I did run into quite a few nice and helpful people on the way to 50. After I hit 50 those people started disappearing fast.

I am nosing around for an active FC. The few I've tried have either been dead or dying so I've been trying to get to a point where I can actively contribute to one and be helpful when I do find one that seems promising.

Fire cast time IS faster after Umbral 3. That's the way BLM mechanics work. Blizzard 3 cast time will faster if it comes from a full astral stack, but slower if not, same applies to Fire (fun fact: you could exploit this mechanic in 2.0 by casting another fire III right after your first fire III coming off umbral stack and it would have the same fast cast time, leading to very angry tanks).

I've tried that and other variants of the BLM rotation and didn't like them. That setup is too long for my personal taste, especially with Thunder 3. The MP you save by doing that to me is not worth the time it takes to set up.
