(Part of this actually rests on the other White Mage not paying attention to the HP of fellow party members.)

Castrum Roulette - first I get DC'd during the Vanguard fight, PS3 takes forever to load back up. (Ugh.)

Finally get back to the party, realize everyone except myself and the MT are fresh 50s. MT had AF+1 gear and I had DL gear. Get targeted by adds, MT tunnel visions and doesn't pull adds off, OT ignores adds as well. Other WHM is not paying attention to the HP of anyone but the MT, so I end up dying in the midst of attempting to cast Cure II on myself.

Rest of the run is incident free until the second half of the Livia fight. OT is attempting to pull all the adds and the Colossi, but cannot hold aggro (I'm only using Cure at this point, attempting to keep aggro off myself as long as possible without dying.) OT regains aggro after I waste Benediction to keep myself from dying (again, the other WHM is not paying attention to anyone but the MT.) I go back to healing the party and almost immediately pull aggro off the OT AGAIN, take two hits from the Colossi and die while trying to heal myself.

This is the *only* run of Castrum where I have ever died.

I'm going to place this as "I'm a bad/lazy healer" story, rather than a horror story. Ooh...Ifrit EX healer swapping...you have to run into the middle to AoE heal anyway (esp as a SCH), so swapping isn't even anything extra for you.

And...4 melee in Titan EX is much, much better than 4 ranged.

Healed Extreme Ifrit today. We didn't win. Other healer ran in with Searing wind too early killed everyone. Then mind you asked me to next to keep succor up on everyone because clearly I'm not doing my job right. I was kicked from party - wut?

Luckily I reformed later and won but still wut?

I think it's safe to assume that all my ifrit ex tries have been horror stories. Still haven't won on my whm, I've gotten it plenty of times on my bard easy, but man healing that fight is hard D:

Pharos Sirius? No problem! The fight's wwaaaaaaaayyy too easy. Let's EAT all the dashes! Give adds to the healer! Expect her to heal through the stun! Then tell her she's an obvious troll because of her gear!


Umm .. no. Reality check: even with OP gear, I can't heal stupid. So you can go %$#@ yourself, stupid dragoon. Clearly you don't have to have a healer to know how to play one and of course, you have the hardest job in this bloody dungeon cuz how hard can it be to SIT THERE AND SPAM A BUTTON SO THAT EVERYBODYS HP IS 100%??? (sarcasm)



Ohh that feels so much better now.

For those curious, I am a end game WHM/SCH who has multiple twintania wins but never bothered to do any dungeons I didn't have to do - namely, Pharos Sirius, Thornmarch, Minstrel's Ballad: The Ultima and Copperbell (HM).

Recently, I've decided to go back to do the little stuff that I had skipped before the patch. Ultima + thornmarch were a breeze till I got to Pharos.

Ok, I have to skip ahead to right before the last boss, in the room with all the different mobs in the corners since SE has a limit on this. Almost wiped there because the tank doesn't know how to pull right. So by this point me and my hubby are on the verge of laughing. Once we clear the room the pally starts casting cure on my hubby, I cracked up...I think it was this whole experience, I just started laughing.
So last boss...the tank is running around in a circle the whole time like doing this will make him dodge the bosses moves or something. The poor DRG has to keep moving to stay behind the boss. I busted out laughing, I was laughing so hard I was crying...I had to control myself or we would have died.
How do you get to that level as a tank? That was absolutly horrible

Other stories: DF Ultima HM, pretty much all the DPS died to Ifrit's charge. Other WHM didn't have SC, I had already used it on one of the other DPS...it started to become apparent we weren't going to win that round so I stopped healing and we wiped. At the end the tank blames me and the other WHM for not SC raising people. Other WHM says they don't have it, and he says he doesn't think I have it either...
I informed him of the issue, told them to have fun, and left.
Another Ultima HM, Tank gets hit by Garuda...we all get knocked back, me and SCH can't make it to him in time and he dies. Afterwards the SCH goes "were u healing?"

Yeah. Aside from that, I've had mostly good experiences with Tanks. I've had several DPS players (especially fellow casters) who think they can Tank, and that makes me crazy. I did DR once and got Halatali, we had a Tank that DC'd after the first mob pull and one of the DPS decided that we could just continue running the dungeon without a Tank. So he charged ahead, pulled two trash mobs (including three Bombs) and basically immediately wiped. I just wanted to be like "Aaaaand that's what you get."

While I understand your frustration, in those levels it can actually be fun. Some of my funniest / best dungeons low level were stuff like:

Cleared Totorak with 3 DDs ; also cleared with 2 SMN only
Halatali as: BLM, DRG, WHM (sleep is however absolutely mandatory^^)
Hauke as: PLD, SMN, MNK

All of these groups were actually levelling (tho I always knew one of my mates) and not overgeared, and every one of those runs took like 60 minutes (besides the 2x SMN only run, which took actual 83 minutes), but we talked a lot, had tons of fun, and had a way of gameplay you normally don't get. Like, really, who sleeps mobs? :P (and if you do, chances are they will get woken in an instant^^)

My horror story...
Me, a new healer, CNJ level 15, ques up first real dungeon Satasha, it was disastrous!
Tank died twice, party wipes once and it was all due to my inexperience!
It is a very hard road as a new healer to grasp the nuance of being a good healer and being a great healer!

A few levels later and making sure that I read (reddit/google) hints and tips and understand my class/job that I am becoming a better healer.
