Well it's not like I meant it like that, I know Roddy piper also has worn a skirt.
I know some cross dressing dudes do it so not generally gays but some but yeah still don't wanna see it lol
I don't wanna see people smoking or dudes with their pants below their ass but hey, not my body.
Why are people flipping their shit when they already wear what could be considered a dress in game and have since 1.x
Would it make people feel better if the word 'robe' was plastered on it? Is it the frills? Do you want someone to hold your hand?
Today I learned seemingly more people are violently threatened by dresses than any other content released, nerfed or otherwise.
Which I just can't wrap my head around. I can't tell if people are upset that it would insult their sexuality, or that it would wreck their 'immersion' or if they're just bigoted. There is just so much absurd content in this game that the idea of men wearing dresses breaks a portion of the community is mind boggling.
And btw, if you have to say "nothing against gays, but..." The request isn't about homosexuals, and everything past the word 'but' makes you look like a bigot.
Maybe females [in real life] who play male characters want to wear a dress.
On the subject of all gender gear sets, let me say that as a female playing a female I get equally upset when I can't wear some of the male only sets. The Snow Lightning Returns items, the male coatee set with the pants and the full coverage top. An interesting looking swimsuit model. I mean I'm really glad that we at least get the little sailor pant set. I think it would be fair if the males got the spring dress model too.
edit: Well while on the subject of things I don't want to see: I don't always want to see half naked people running around in game but oh well. Can't stop it. Also hate the snowmen set but oh well.
oh I figured you didn't mean anything really by it. I just wanted to clarify that because you know someone WILL take offence and blow up all over the place.
Man come on.
Women can wear pants. Only fair men can wear skirts "we're not there as a society yet", where the fuck have you been the last 50 years???
from what little we know about the chinese launch SE is outsourcing it to a chinese company and it is very likely that FFXIV:ARR China will be seperated from the rest of the world. this is actually very typical of Chinese MMOs so that is a whole culture we likely dont have to worry about when this type of thing is considered.
would I like to see the gender lock removed from certain clothing?
yes. men in dresses dont bother me one bit.
do I see it happening? no. why you may ask?
SE has this game in too many countries with different cultures where if they did it they might lose a lot of customers, and in any business loss of a lot of customers is bad. it might come about eventually. we have no idea what the future of the game holds. but without a decent sized player base the game has no future.

I knew this thread wouldn't stay dead.
You know what else makes me uncomfortable,Liars, drug addicts,Drunks, thieves, loud people, mentally deficient deviants, gang bangers, stupid people that think norms and standards aren't necessary in a civilized environment! Discrimination is a good thing since we as humans do it every single day "even you)! So lets all get off the high horse! Your logic is flawed, and reasons ridiculous. Accepting everyone for everything they are is not only illogical it is just stupid to even say.
Of course, telling someone that they can't do something that is part of their identity because it makes someone uncomfortable is where it becomes homophobic or transphobic behaviour. 'It makes me or the majority uncomfortable' and 'I or the majority don't like it' are not good enough reasons to deny someone else the ability to be themselves in any situation they choose. This is the very reason that rights are not - or at least should not be - voted on.
