Using your head to make/save space (also even with those 35 spaces I would still have 131 space) :P. It's still a non issue personally.

Well of course I can save space and organize constantly and all that junk but having an extra retainer would make life easier.

Then by all means spend your 2 bucks, that's your business. Other people including me will just do a routine check on our Retainers and never have inv space issues heh.

OMG Star you are being far too pragmatic Of course we all carry the lvl 1-5 *5 spaces* items to meld with, we also keep 1 of every materia in our bag JUST IN CASE we need it. So of course we have to carry every lvl of every craft JUST IN CASE we need it /sarcasmoff

$4 extra for a months worth of entertainment isn't even the cost of a cup of coffee. I'm more than happy to pay real dollars in preference to having to work at getting them through the game. We are provided with a heap of inventory space up front so paying with real dollars for additional is OK. If others aren't prepared to pay extra for it then they obviously don't really need it.
