Well of course I can save space and organize constantly and all that junk but having an extra retainer would make life easier.

Then by all means spend your 2 bucks, that's your business. Other people including me will just do a routine check on our Retainers and never have inv space issues heh.

If you look this is different from carbon matter which was UP TO certain levels this is specific level ranges so I can't keep around the rank 5 ones and do it all and actually I do keep materia that I may need it may not be 1 of each but in my retainer I have stuff that is common for relic melds or useful for the crafted i70 sets

Yeah I have them to Yurimi but I keep them on an alt. I do have all crafts and gatherers at lvl 50 but I can't see a reason I would need to keep all lvls of the items in my bag. I MIGHT keep the ones I would use for my own use in my bag and that would only be the top lvl.

I'm not sure if there are additional ingredients or just the clear prisms but it might only take up a single slot if you just keep one stack of clear prisms without splitting them up until ready to use them.

Yeah I only keep grade 3 carbon on me because it does 3 2 and 1 rank materia these though I NEED the specific one so I can't use a grade 5 prism to attach something to my plundered set I need to use a grade 1 if it was an all in 1 I wouldn't really care.

Funny thing is, do people really need to carry all grades? Like what gear would people wear under 20 on a serious note? Who says you NEED to carry them? Just buy or get what you need use it and voila you still have 35 spaces in your inventory. Using your head to make/save space (also even with those 35 spaces I would still have 131 space) :P. It's still a non issue personally.

You would want too to save some original pieces to reapply and/or combine their appearance to another one once you get new gear (that we'll be getting eventually as new content gets released). I don't know about other people, but I'm not willing to farm again hoping that the RNG blesses me and that I can get the gear pieces that I want for glamours (not to mention the lockouts). Multiply that for each class (including new ones) and incompatibilities between used gear slots, that might and I'm sure will change between tiers, and allowed classes.

Add to the above the amount of space needed to temporarily store event items, or to save some crafting materials that you might need in the future if you don't want to buy them or farm them all at once. And we can keep adding more things over time, while our inventory, armory, and retainer space stays the same. And meanwhile, the armoire keeps working as usual.

You all can say this all you want, but eventually we'll feel the need for more retainers. And I for one am not willing to pay monthly for that on top of my sub, unless subs get cheaper to balance it out. I can go to another P2P MMO, pay the same, and not bother with inventory space.

Not everyone wants to play as frugally though. It will be a lot more convenient to have an extra retainer will it not? That was my point, most players will feel the need for it. Just because you can organize frugally, doesn't mean most will want to.


P.s Not sure why you explaining to me how to save space. Not everyone likes to hold/throw away the same stuff. Everyones inventory is different. I have a lot of different kinds of mats in my inventory to help players craft food/gear and then you have hq/non hq mats. It's not a matter of "using ones head".

I do however see, very clearly, how it was all designed as some "incentive" to buy more retainers and milk us for more money in full F2P underhanded tactics.

If that is the case then we would have 80 inventory slots, 80 retainer storage slots, 10 sell slots, stacks with max. item of 12 and every item in 4 versions (nq, +1, +2, +3)

5 grades times seven crafts = 35 inventory slots to cover everything if you want to keep them all stocked all the time instead of just buying them when you need them. It's right there in the image (as well as other images so far), Grade 1 Glamour Prism (Woodworking).

Then just buy or craft what you need instead to have stacks of prisms in your retainer you would never use?
