If there's no need for them, then buying them is throwing money at them at that point. Sure some will bite, but not like how your describing it to be like, people REALLY need it. If it has no purpose people won't buy.
1. Don't think it's a big deal. It's just inventory and AH space.
2. Fantasia and possibly namingway cards yes. Nothing game breaking though.
3. Ventures cost venture currency. Even if I have 4 retainers I must be able to afford sending them off. Sure we don't know how quick we can gain ventures yet, but I don't think being able to farm a handful of items more than the next guy is going to break the game. The volume of items you collect per venture seems very small.
4. Possibly. We've changed less.
5. Maybe. Doesn't bother me either way.
6. No. I don't for 2 seconds thing Yoshi is going to turn this into pay 2 win. Everything he has said about the game over the last year leads me to trust him much much more than that.
If venture you could seen out to do Titan ex mode and get the rewards I would have a problem with that but the current system I currently do not see a issue with you have to put effort into it and is limited and honestly doubt for me I will not be purchasing these don't need to have an alt tbh lol.
1) My opinion, I don't have one because I'm too busy being shocked. I'm not shocked that they are charging for the retainers, I'm shocked that I managed to get shocked by the fart in the gift wrapped present again. I shoulda seen it coming.http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...95#post1963395
1- What's your opinion about this? (Summarize)
2- Do you think we will have more things like this in the future totally changing our idea of FFXIV:ARR?
3- Am I just exaggerating and it's something normal or that, 'doesn't affect gameplay' even if it's confirmed that those 'ventures' will grant us items, and even if it is clear that we will need more space storage in the future?...
4- Is our voice enough for change these things?
5- Should retainers be in-game for guil or any other ways, giving the currency a little more of importance aside of housing?
6- Taking in mind these kind of strategies, do you think eventually the game will become a Pay 2 Win, or, not radically that, but, slowly increase the amount of money we pay per month if we want to play it full advantages?
Thanks everyone.
2) Yes I do, and it'll probably get more ridiculous as time goes on.
3) No, I don't think it's normal.. maybe someone else who has played a game with similar tactics has, but I have not. I haven't played a single game where I have to rent bag space monthly. A one time fee, yes, seen it in several games. I hope it's a one time fee.
4) Not really sure.. alof of people voiced their opinions about needing more bag space.. and here is the awesome result! =.=
5) It would make for another nice gil sink, cause the housing one crushed alot of peoples hopes. I've started to learn that if they hype it even a little bit, it's a trap.
And yet the game was designed to conveniently make it as hard as possible to have mules. You have to jump through hoops to get something thats freely offered in every other MMO. First you need to pay the full sub to be able to create more than one character in the same server, which is fine since its still falls within the standard sub price. Then you have to either make a dummy FC (meaning your character wont get the benefit of a regular FC with actual players to do content with) or hope your current one allows you to use their bank space to transfer stuff (and the risk that comes with it).
Do you really think these restrictions are in place to fight RMT? Doubtfull, I still dont see how this makes any significant impact on RMT prevention ... nor is it working at all, obviously. I do however see, very clearly, how it was all designed as some "incentive" to buy more retainers and milk us for more money in full F2P underhanded tactics.
PS: Multi-month discounts are offered in almost every MMO with a sub ... and they all allow you to transfer items and make as many mules as you can fit in the server. Not a single one whines about the server space it would take up because at the end of the day its all just Object IDs and its slot position.
Just to glamour you need a prism with a specific level range and a specific crafting type this means you could take up To 40 inventory on prisms alone. Add to this you can get minions crafting materials and items only from this method not even to mention you can get allagan pieces which are direct gil. Seems like they want you to get more retainers and less of an option. This is what i mean by fear from a preconceived "slippery slope". We have no clue if they will "make us" have to buy more, yet people speak as if this is fact. I don't plan on buy and guess what? I'll be doing coil, and Leviathan, and all the other content because i can.
All of this hate is predicated on a unfounded fear. Just because other mmos (f2p ones) have done it does it mean this one will? In all complete truth, we will have to wait and see. Is there anything wrong with waiting? no.

If you need 40 Slots for Prism's you are doing something totally wrong:Just to glamour you need a prism with a specific level range and a specific crafting type this means you could take up To 40 inventory on prisms alone. Add to this you can get minions crafting materials and items only from this method not even to mention you can get all allagan pieces which are direct gil. They are just like other Catalyst's; stackable up to 99 x 5 different Grades mean with 1 Stack of each you can Glamour 495 Items. So i dont know what you need 40 Inventory Slots for.
This sucks. I really need the retainer space, but I am not willing to pay real money for it. Guess I'll just lessen the amount of crafting I do and get rid of my materials.
5 grades times seven crafts = 35 inventory slots to cover everything if you want to keep them all stocked all the time instead of just buying them when you need them. It's right there in the image (as well as other images so far), Grade 1 Glamour Prism (Woodworking).
