It is annoying when a new players tries to hide the fact they are new. You can clearly see they are not pulling their weight, but they say nothing. You can't even learn to be better if you are not open about it.

I think there is nothing to be done about these people. There are just some people that you cannot help.

Story roulette run, 2nd healer (2.8k hp scholar) told me (3.7k hp whm) to focus on healing the main tanker - ok, he wished that.
Garuda normal, german team that is 1st time and does not speak english, i do not speak german - we passed after 10 wipes or so, without speaking much (due to massive misunderstanding).
Copperbell hard, french team with the same issue as described above - vote abandon after 85 minutes.
Story roulette, french team, half of first timers and the rest were 2nd/3rd timers, they were explaining me (healer) some kind of plan, but i did not understand a word and most of them died on a heroic attempt of doing something stupid - i think after that text wall of plan telling them i do not speak french would be very impolite.
My 1st time tanking copperbell hard (i said it at start), polite healer said it's ok and we are going to do a fast run - ok, i said he should go ahead and show me how to pull right.

It's even worse when you try to make polite suggestions to help them because you main what they are lvling and they launch into a tirade of "this is how it's done in wow or equivalent mmo" and watch them die over and over the rage quit cause they think everyone else is the problem saying "I could do this dungeon by myself and it would be more fun"

I'm still very new to the game so I try to ask any time I can (even if I've seen guides) but as I've started entering the endgame stuff I've found the general atmosphere is a lot more hostile. I've never seen anybody be outwardly rude but it tends to show up in this really uncomfortable passive aggression. People not asking questions is a symptom of a wider problem.

That said, nobody should ever be an ass to someone who's offering advice. I think those people are earlier versions of people who are aggressive to new people. Pretty sure we can track a continuity there.

I see why that mentality spread and I wish it didn't go so large scale. also the sheer amount of people who will not videos is obscenely large so yeah this problem is like having conjoined twins that wont help each other lol
I find written strategies help me more then videos and gnerally the quick summation of my role before a fight for the first time is among the best ways for me to do it right fast.

It's a double edged sword. If a new person speaks up, there is a not so insignificant chance that someone will just instantly drop the dungeon. If they don't speak up, then people will stay, but then, as you note, the party might wipe. So which is better? Stay quiet and possibly win? Or speak up and have the party possibly dissolve right away. For a DPS, the latter option might suck because of the time they spent in the queue just to get into the dungeon.
