AF2 will not actually be in 2.2

So we have tome gear figured out, we have coil gear figured out, what's left?

Unless you expect to garden af2 out of your FC's yard I will guarantee it isn't in this update.

Well, I'm not quite as good as predicting the future as your omnipresent self. I only know of Coil Gear and Gerolt Gear. Gerolt masterworks could be either tome or crafted gear from what I know so far. Especially with the way the description is it leads me to believe maybe were the forgers and its the crafted gear. As far as any of us lesser beings know Af2 could be tomes like it was with myth and Gerolt Masterworks is our crafted gear. You could be right , you could be wrong, my point is we DONT know and you claim your assumption as fact. So I figured you had to be able to read fortures or see the future.

Edit: Also above poster can be correct in that the bard gear we see from Gerolt preview could be same but since different gender it changes. We just dont know. The only Af2 preview and Gerolt preview we seen from both is Bard

What? They look nothing a like. AF armor is designed to be the traditional FF costumes.

That....looks nothing like the AF Bard gear. Sorry, I don't see it. Bard outfit was almost all light, free cloth. That outfit does not follow that idea

I'm sorry the two of you didn't identify the similarities I spotted between that new gear set and the Bard AF/Myth.

Let me repeat what I noted appeared similar:

Most notably being the cloth extensions with the metal/gold accessory at the end, shoes, waist having more cloth wrapped around with a fancy buckle and general asymmetry.

Here's a quick little visual aid if you still don't follow:



Note the style of the pants by the ankle. The shoes are similar/slippers as well. The extensions of cloth (or leather) behind the legs end with a similar (if not the same) gold ornament. The elaborate buckle on the waist may be a stretch, but both designs have a decidedly overly-decorated waist. I wasn't going to include the scarf/collar, but it caught my eye; I'm aware that the new gear set is probably attached to the head piece.

Let me just point something thing out;

Mythology Tomestones are getting crafting items similar to Philosophy.
Gerolts stuff is presumably crafted.
We're getting a new Tomestone category, which so far has no purpose if you assume Mythology items are used to make Gerolts gear.

My assumption;

Gerolts gear is iLv90 and can be melded, making it slight better than current iLv90, just like the iLv70 gear was slightly better than Dorklight.
Allagan Tomestones of Newness can be traded for a yet unknown gear set which will be equal to Coil Turn 6~9 gear. That gear may or may not be AF2.

They've already confirmed we're getting Zodiac weapons this update, but they've yet to show us any. Would be pretty logical to get AF2 alongside it.

Because, to my eyes it looks too generic for a so called AF2. None of the WHM gear elements we\\'ve always seen on all WHM throughout FF games appear on this outfit ( the hood and the little red triangles ).

Not that I don't want AF2 to come in this coming update, I still don't think it is and the images revealed don't really support the contrary. I mean, looking at

Even forgiving the differences in gender you'd expect at least some similarities like what we have with the current AF (only difference is men get an undershirt... bastards). Now, not saying the potential for wild variation isn't there, but given the record present in existing gear, I don't see that as being the case.

For a moment I thought we would be getting new accessories but after closer examination, it looks like they're simply changing the current hero accessories to blue.


(Notice the item Lv hasn't changed and his stats are the same. )


Or it could just be debug gear.

Well, the proof is all over the thread. People have posted pictures of the Gerolt gear and pictures of Yoshida holding completed concept art of AF2 and neither look the same. How could you have missed it?
