Also, I understand it's vanity, don't get me wrong. I'm a big fan of vanity actually, but you've misread the whole point.
Yet again I have to explain that this would be a
controversial vanity addition, therefore as much as it would 'express freedom'.
Whether it's seen as bigoted or oppressing that men can't choose to wear dresses is at the express opinion of the developers, its their game at the end of the day and any damages caused by doing so would be their fault.
If you think for even a moment that this addition wouldn't be the spark of a problem for Square Enix, think again. As a very very large company ANYTHING seen as controversial has to be approached VERY carefully, something Yoshi-P himself stated.
