Right now... no, because I have become busy with school and workbut back when I was bumming it out and had nothing better to do, I would be upset.

An anchor the size of the Empire State building. (I need to stop using analogies)
Almost everything that they've done has been stymied due to a half completed game engine and poor server infrastructure. They can't work on those because it would involve taking the game down for weeks and stopping work on content or game redesigns. Are you saying that there have been no improvements done thus far? Any work that's been done to make the game better will be for nothing if you just shut the servers off for a year or two.
Seriously do you people think things through when you post these half cocked ideas? Sure it sounds great to you, but you have to think past what you want and look at the end result.
OK, remind yourself not to work in server administration then. If I told my company I was going to take down all the core servers to implement an upgrade without a backup server I'd be eating ramen and dirt and living in a van down by the river. An anchor the size of the Empire State building. You honestly think there's no way to work on the game without taking all the servers down? How did you come to that conclusion?
"I know not what brings men joy. Of what drives them to great deeds, of what legacies they hope to leave, I know less yet. But I do know this: The true hero of this tale was the man forgotten."
I'm actually for living in a van next to the river, I hate work.

I did indeed think this thread through, although it seems close to spiraling out of control. I would like to ask though, how would bringing the servers down in the way I have described in my previous post Hirt the changes that have already been made? Are you saying that there have been no improvements done thus far? Any work that's been done to make the game better will be for nothing if you just shut the servers off for a year or two.

I do not mean for any changes or progress to be rolled back in any way. I simply think it would be better to fix the game all at once instead of slowly trickling in updates over time. By doing it this way you would have a chance to actually restore momentum by showing the public all at once that this game can be good. Slow updates do nothing but breed contempt unless they are perfect in every way. And lets be honest, even when that does happen you have those bad apples that still complain.![]()
