Are you saying that there have been no improvements done thus far? Any work that's been done to make the game better will be for nothing if you just shut the servers off for a year or two.

Seriously do you people think things through when you post these half cocked ideas? Sure it sounds great to you, but you have to think past what you want and look at the end result.

Almost everything that they've done has been stymied due to a half completed game engine and poor server infrastructure. They can't work on those because it would involve taking the game down for weeks and stopping work on content or game redesigns.

OK, remind yourself not to work in server administration then. If I told my company I was going to take down all the core servers to implement an upgrade without a backup server I'd be eating ramen and dirt and living in a van down by the river.

But I'd be boned regardless if I came up with a server infrastructure that didn't allow me to continue developing and was crash prone.

I wouldn't mine if the servers went down and fix's things. Honestly once the poll was done on what people would like to see changed from the question's Yohsi asked. Then they should of just shut them down and spare themselves all the forum's bs saying thanks hope you enjoy the new feature's once the server's come back online.
