SE just copy FFXI in FFXIV

Which is why I stopped playing Rift after about a month and a half.

I agree with Reika for the most part, except about the AH. Seriously, Market Wards function as a crappier version of it in every possible way, at this point, so they might as well cut their losses and put in a system that doesn't reek of donkey crap. (But keep the retainers -- I like them.) Also, a search GUI would be ideal, but a text search command is better than no search command at all. I figure that's a bit more in the line of, "Could we get a way to find people please?" rather than going, "OMG MAKE THIS FFXI RIGHT NOW!" I also want chocobos, but only because I'm getting sick of running everywhere; that doesn't necessarily mean I want a FFXI clone.

Honestly..given how you said "what little I played of FFXI" is like me saying what little of Zelda OoT I played I disliked the entire game.

Here's the basics that FFXI did that XIV should have had at launch if they chose to build off of it:

Linkshell system - Commands including /lsmes. Pearl shading, so while there will be repeats, it at least at customizable coloring.
Search system - You can have a search comment with color coding based on categories.
/sea all (level range/job/names etc) type of searching
Party Flag.
Group Grinding - love it or hate it, even with solo natured games there has to be a reason to group and the grouping reason in XIV is very minimal.
Content Concepts - Guildleves are basically lesser forms of Field of Valor/Grounds of Valor. They're similar but they could have complimented it by adding in a Campaign or Assault type system which could be tied to fame which could unlock more content.
Working Job system - Again it's up to preference, but the job system worked very well. The only "imbalance" was the fact everyone would want to flock to what puts out the highest damage, which is true for every MMO in existence.
Interface - Client side goodness.
World/Lore/Atmosphere - XIV has a fair bit of it but you can't deny...well you said you barely played it so you probably can deny that it has great atmosphere, lore and world.

The "trollishness" of my response doesn't make it any less true. I can say FFXIV is ass, but at the very least I actually spent a decent amount of time playing it and continue to keep up with it so that I can back up all the shit I talk instead of just speaking mindlessly about something I know nothing about.

I wouldn't do that to the CE version, you know this game if it does fail (AND I HOPE NOT) it can become the first FF that got the worst rating on every region market. And can also turn around and become the first MMO to go into sh** hole and come back and become one of the top 3 games in MMO history...

It's all up to the YoshiP and his dev's team work + all our feed backs supporting them (and hopefully they listen to all the good ideas we all have in here...)

I think FFXIV will improve. It wasn't really all that bad to me really, just needs some improvements and additions. Too bad the 'improvements' involve scrapping just about every aspect of the current systems, thanks to us... They could have done it without hitting the revert button, but that is what I see happening now. So don't worry OP, things will start to feel like FFXI over time.
