I covered that point right here:Not sure why so many people are in an uproar concerning this, most games do not level cap dungeons. If people want to have high levels run them through then so be it, it does not effect you in any way whatsoever. People need to get over themselves and stop trying to force their game play style on others.
Yes. Important point to take away here is that in WoW, there is essentially a pseudo-level cap since most of the raid loot is bound to your character, so you have to play as that character to acquire the items anyway.
In FF14, since a single character can be multiple classes, using your high rank class to easily farm items for your lower ranked class would ruin game balance.
This is why the need for level caps in games like FF11 and FF14 is much more necessary than in other MMOs where you can't be every job on one character.

It does have an effect on class balance. This isn't like other MMOs. Character binding keeps players from twinking their alts. In this game, all our alts are on the same character, so that doesn't work. It does have an effect on the economy because all the best items are the easiest to get so no one would want to buy normal rank 25 items anymore.
Buying all HQ items for your lower level characters is better because it helps the economy that way. If you could just twink your lower rank classes with raid gear, there would be no reason to participate in the rank 25 gear economy.
That's open-world. It's different. Open world content is supposed to be "open" to everyone with no restrictions. "Instanced" dungeons are specifically designed, therefore can be tailored to a particular rank range and playstyle.
And while you may have not felt it, the influx of items into the world like that did have an effect on the economy whether you were aware of it or not.

please see above. Also no one buys normal rank 25 items anyways except weapons. You are making up issues to try and push your point. It does have an effect on class balance. I don't see how that is any worse then Making a shit ton of gil then buying all HQ items for your lower level characters as you rank them up.
I don't feel I ruined the game for myself when I went out and solo'ed/duo'ed all the R30 NMs for gear for my lower ranking classes. Infact I had a lot of fun doing it~
this isnt about their experienceI don't see how that is any worse then Making a shit ton of gil then buying all HQ items for your lower level characters as you rank them up.

its about them wanting to force you to experience the same way they do

Thats the feeling i get too, also they cant stand the notion that someone might be able to get something without a tonn of pain.
Its basically the same group of people that know exactly what an mmo should be like (namely like ffxi) and they know exactly what everybody wants and needs and likes, there is no "if" and "maybe" in their thinking, they just KNOW.
I really don't care how you guys experience it, or how much pain you went through to get something. I just want to be able to hop on a ~r30 class, get with a group of people and go through challenging content. Its not my concern if some fellow blows through it with the aid of r50s and gets the same rewards - my concern is simply my experience.Thats the feeling i get too, also they cant stand the notion that someone might be able to get something without a tonn of pain.

If the content is actually challenging, and the reasonable option exists to just out-level it - its naive to think players will do anything but that. Fail a few times, people have to go, people can't gather on x day, blah blah and then try preaching to everyone to keep at it when you can swap to a higher class/get a friend/etc and just get it done... I just don't see it turning out well, perhaps I'm wrong.
Be it a cap, some sort of loot restriction, a moogle crying when groups are over-leveled - whatever it is, something has to oppose this easy way out or it will largely be the only experience.
