Let me take my stab at "reading into this to much". The gear looks reminiscent to something a Dancer would wear. DNCs use daggers and eventually get the passive Dual Wield. Thancred is showcased dual wielding daggers. So, DNC gear wearing looking character w/ a dagger and Thancred dual wielding....take that and run with it.

Going with the idea that it's casting-looking gear the character in question is wearing, while acknowledging how similar that weapon looks to a dagger of some kind... On the off chance that they would add a class/job simply with a patch, I'm gonna throw RDM (Red Mage) on the table. In FFXI, one of RDM's main weapons was a dagger, in fact they were just as good with them as they were with swords, and could even equip the Relic dagger.

If it can be THF with mage-looking gear on, I think RDM is a good Possibility...

True. I also feel like I remember him saying something about not wanting to add any classes or jobs altogether until the first expansion rolls out with version 3.0... could be wrong though. Maybe they're trying to sandbag us... >.,>

Alot of people keep saying this is concept art but it's not. This is promotional art and as such I highly doubt anything in the picture is done purely at the whim of the artist.

Definitely your first FF game if you don't know by now that a lot of promotional artwork SE releases are usually just stylization.

Out of all the jobs they could of added they had to add Dancer...

Now thats its Dancer Job hopefully its only apart of the GLA class tree of jobs.
Hopefully GLA gets few more new dps attacks that are dagger based.
