Ul'dah is the perfect place for a thieves guild. Ul'dah is synonymous with corruption, poverty, and an obsession with all that glitters. That kind of situation would breed thieves like rats. Get enough thieves in a confined area and one guy is going to get the brilliant idea to organize it into a guild and make professional thieves.

Also Yoshida said classes/jobs will be in patches. Races come with expansions. The article has been quoted in this thread several times already.

Gladiator => Dancer (Support)
Lancer => Templar (Tank)
Marauder => Dark Knight (DPS)
Conjurer => Geomancer (DPS)
Thaumaturge => Necromancer (Support)
Archer => Ranger (DPS)
Pugilist => Thief (DPS)

As well as this, Bard is being adjusted to be a proper support Job, and party set ups will now include support instead of an extra DPS.
