Actually, not really. If you have ever played early Seiken Densetsu series, notably Secret of Mana (SD2) & Seiken Densetsu 3 on SNES, they do have very heavy reference to that kind of music. I know since it is one of my country's main heritage.

I disagree one excludes the other, sorry. You missed the point a bit.

Your example from SoM sure is a full-blown direction of the whole piece, though. Soken used a few rhythms based on Kecak and emulated them in certain aspects of the music, such as one of the riff guitars. The choir is also reminiscent of it, but it fits the general heavy rock orientation of Titan's theme. What happened there? He took Kocak ELEMENTS and ADAPTED them into the song. It's not meant to be a cover. It doesn't need to be 100% one thing to make you think of it.
