It really is quite funny how almost every thread ends up with a battle between egos...
To say Soken's music is a downgrade I think is not fair. I love Nobuo's music as I've listened to every game's music he has ever made and I'm super nostalgic about his tracks and think he's the best in the industry. But Soken is making the music for this game, and it is beautiful too especially his remastered renditions of previous classical tracks. He admires Nobuo and I respect that, he can make the music, it fits the series. If Nobuo or him make the music, I'll be a happy FF 14 gamer, they both do a kickass job.

Of course it is! : D
I am not asking you to not compare them, this is a forum our life is comparison, I just meant there is no comparison between 1.0 and 2.0 since it's obvious imho that 2.0 restyling is a huge downgrade both for music and design.
Now, your opinion can be different and no problem I respect it, but for me Akihiko Yoshida as art director and Nobuo Uematsu (but I can say the same if the game was different and we had as composer Kumi Tanioka, Yasunori Mitsuda or the great Hitoshi Sakimoto) means top class design and OST. And 1.0 tracks prove that.
For a bigger vision, FFIX and FFXII are my favourites team ever: the first (and I agree with Hironobu Sakaguchi's words who said IX was his favourite) is the best FF ever and the second one has the higher design and gameplay system of the entire saga.
Opinions. ; )

It's time for you to stop, then, since both sides stated their "opinions". You need to say "you don't like". You need to stop saying "it is bad".

Nope, I need to say it's bad for my own reasons. I don't like is too easy, we're into a discussion forum there's no point to be here if I just say I like or no: instead if I do, it's just flood.

And you did, when you came to attack Soken's work in an innocent thread about an interview with him.
You actually didn't even read it, you just wanted to spill your poison and make propaganda about your bad thread.
The interview actually further proves he is an amazing composer, that respects and loves the series and thinks about the music.

If you are it's not fun: when an interview and the respect and love for the serie makes your OST a great work and a better work then the previous one?
Stop playing the fanboy scene and making your replies full of insults, I have enough, I am here to say the classic FF themes need their own composer and how 1.0 music and feeling was ways superior (and I am not the only one).
Discussion closed, for me.

Finally, the troll is leaving.
Back to the interview...
It has some pretty cool insight on Titan's theme composition style. Kecak dance rhythms and variations really make me think about that battle and the context.
(Which is, by the way, another mark of a great composer to glue those together)

Actually, not really. If you have ever played early Seiken Densetsu series, notably Secret of Mana (SD2) & Seiken Densetsu 3 on SNES, they do have very heavy reference to that kind of music. I know since it is one of my country's main heritage. It has some pretty cool insight on Titan's theme composition style. Kecak dance rhythms and variations really make me think about that battle and the context.
Here is an example of one of boss fight from Secret of Mana that uses heavy Kecak theme:
