    I did some quick research. Apparently with wolves, Pup and cub are interchangeable. I'm going to say that Kittens are a new born, while the pup is the Juvenile.

    Apparently there are many cases where you have cub, pup, and whelp being interchangeable. The only really close feline creature that has cub and pup both is the Hyena. Fun fact, if you're on a dichotomy chart, Felines are distinguished by retractable claws. Hyenas have retractable claws.
