Why don't you ask this question to people who commited suicide due to constant bullying, be it in the RW or the internet? Oh wait, you can't they're dead. And therein lies the problem. Why do people get so worked up about being 'bullied' over stupid, silly stuff? Where did the ability to shrug off the stupid shit go? Oh, yeah, it ran away screaming from all of this 'self-awareness' crap and all the trophies handed out to the kids who don't even try to win a game because it's supposed to just be fun.
I though parsing was against thenrules/bannable/whatever.?
Ether way...
Some of you talk about parsing to "weed out the bad players" so basically if a player sucks, you don't want them in your endgame. Ok, so you basically harass them by telling them they suck and kicking them out . Instead of teaching them. They don't learn end game, they get upset/bored/tired of people being Mean to them and quit. That costs SE money, because by parsing, and not keeping to yourself, or teaching how to better people, your driving off customers for their business. Which is why *i* belive they haven't and more than likely won't add or allow anything like that.
I dont think they should ever allow or add parsing or similar things to the game. Just as the game. If you come across someone bad, especially in DF, oh well. It's bound to happen.
I'd rather we keep the population of the game up, and help maintain it longer
It's simple really, just parse in private, see who are the ones dealing good dps, vote abandon, send a private msg to the good dps or add them to a linkshell. It's the harsh truth, but improving at the game is more individual responsibility than it is of the group.
Everyone started off new at this game. If you need to have complete strangers teach you how to play instead of figuring it out yourself or doing some research on your own, you'll forever be stuck in the "bad" category. If you can't do better, just make sure you don't qq about how bad other people are. If you're any good, people will notice.
There are people below the realm of teaching, and stays in the failing ditch.
Any program that is used within the game that isn't part of the game or issued by SE is technically a bannable offence period. No buts, or ifs.
Next time report them and I urge anyone else to report if someone is using a program to rate your game play.
The ones in the thread who use it that are giving you a bad time about it probably are the same type of people who judge others using a parser.
If more people reported these types they'd stop and think twice before abusing the parser.
Try 80% of the player base are bad, and that's from the DPS group alone. Sadly, that's being real.

Show me the actual census data to back that up if you want to be taken seriously. Otherwise, keep that crazy talk to yourself.
The replies of some in this thread are EXACTLY why SE shouldn't want a parser anywhere near this game. And no, desiring civility in an MMO isn't anything close to a "Care Bear" attitude (what is with this pseudo-masculine mindset, anyway?). It's called being a civilized human being instead of fraternity-style meathead.
You really think a parser is needed to judge a person's performance?Next time report them and I urge anyone else to report if someone is using a program to rate your game play.

Almost anyone who's paying attention can judge a person's performance easily by looking at which spells they use and how much threat they generate (All of which is available in-game).
A parser simply makes it easier.
If 7 of your 8 party members are doing well and 1 is holding them back, it makes sense to analyze and see what it is the group and that person are doing wrong and then try to iron out the problems.
This is common sense and logic. Something almost everyone I see defending the OP here, has conveniently ignored/forgotten.
Third party mods are currently allowed to be used at your own discretion/for personal purposes and normally should not be used outside of your own personal use but if your group is open to addons and understands these things can more often than not help your group, there is no harm in using them. Even Yoshi himself noted this.
The problem emerges when someone with a dense mentality, unable and incapable of accepting criticism, is given some form of criticism.
Thus we have this and several other, similar threads.
