Well, I only recently started playing this game, but still felt like sharing this.
I only unlocked scholar yesterday, finally becoming a healer in this game (I always play healer in MMOs, so I was really looking forward to this!) and while I was forced to heal once when I was an arcanist (Conjurer thought she was a DD, fun times), I always had really great parties.
I honestly didn't expect much trouble...but the trouble started when I was the healer, of course. Wanting to start with an easy instance, I queued up for Sastasha...
My tank refused to use flash, like the entire run. So me, the pugilist and the archer were all off-tanking the entire thing while the tank just focused one mob at a time...not even trying to pull the mobs off of us.
We somehow made it, but like, it certainly was one hell of an experience for my first healing job >.>

When I first unlocked SCH, I had a similar experience. For what it's worth, if you get whm to lvl 34 you can sub stoneskin for totorak and beyond, you can have it as your first subskill for satasha and low level dungeons and it might be better than protect. Otherwise, yeah, main healing below 30 can be annoying.

I hate to break it to you but this always seems to happen in the low level duty roulettes I run on exclusively on my SCH. I always encourage them to go nuts (just not everybody off to different directions at the same time) because Eos can heal through the entire dungeon by herself 95% of the time. Perhaps it's less of a struggle for me because of my uber high level gear getting synch'd down, but I've always just accepted that most lower level roulette tanks are still learning and therefore ..


Can't tank worth sh---. lol 99% of the low roulettes I wind up in are like this. Even the entry level gear tanks in higher dungeons have a bit of an issue holding aggro from entry level gear blm's. It's good healer training to use for later raids though. SCH's need this kind of experience specifically because we specialize in damage mitigation.

I think the gear scaling actually brings you down to a point lower than HQ gear of the level you are synced to. Don't quote me on that, just something I read, I haven't tested it myself.

Eos is definitely a badass when it comes to low level healing. I've seen Eos solo heal up to Brayflox when I was playing with my SCH friends. Granted, my tank actually kept aggro.

I was running Stone Vigil for the second time.

The tank and I were at the opposite ends of a long corridor. The tank pulls everything all the way back to me. Not surprisingly, they aggro on me and kill me.

Has this happened to anyone else? I've had some tanks pull directly in to the healer. Is this a common thing to do?

Unless specified, no. We usually run behind the tank. If you catch aggro though, stand close enough to him so he can take it off you sooner than later.

idiot tanks pulling whole floors in haukke manor hard without any defensive cooldowns or enmity abilities ... then the douche complains when people die (due to pulling aggro on him ... emergency heal maybe ? ). Then he does it again and blames my lack of gear (i80) when I just blasted 6 charges of lustrate on his face and he still died ... yeahhhh ... if you could reroll a dps and stfu, that would be nice.

Me playing on Titan story mode due to the low level roulette. At the first geocrush, our bard ran all the way against the wall, apperently hoping to fall off. He didn't fell off yet though and ran back in to the platform, where i explained to him he should stay on the edge on the inside of the circle. He didn't say anything and next geocrush he ran once again to the most outer piece of land. This time the bard fell off the platform though and i thought he didn't spoke english. But then suddenly he started raging and flaming at me for why i didn't raise him. But if that was it.. Tank and other DPS started flaming at me aswell why i didn't raise the bard. They probably didn't knew you cant raise anyone who fell off the platform..

Not really a horror story.

In WP the tank I was with didn't really hold the hate on groups of mobs. He'd overpower like once to get the attention of them at the start, most likely since we had a blm and smn (along with me, WHM) who could do some decent AoE. Ended up that I couldn't really help DPS with holy much since I was keeping the DPS up with heals the entire run. Not that it mattered, WP is easy and everyone was at least ilvl70+, just not used to seeing that happen lol (that said, was my first WP run in over a month).
