Inaccurate how? why does everyone or why do a lot of people seem to portray all these doomsday events for the game as its going to die its going to die since none of us have any real thorough documentation on how well or not well I games doing can only rely on reports from internet sites and such.
Mostly because MMOs in general aren't doing so well. I don't know of many genres that can do well when they're all busy coping off each other. Outside of FPS I guess, but really how can you make FPS different? I like this game because I like Final Fantasy. The MMO market is pretty much pick your flavor of ice cream. I will say though SE has done really well holding on to the players it has. Most games end up consolidating servers within the first 6 months.Inaccurate how? why does everyone or why do a lot of people seem to portray all these doomsday events for the game as its going to die its going to die since none of us have any real thorough documentation on how well or not well I games doing can only rely on reports from internet sites and such.
That still doesn't provide how we are seeing another MMO "die" especially this one. I remember the first three months of SWTOR people were saying it is going to "die" but it's still active isn't it?Mostly because MMOs in general aren't doing so well. That's what he means by throwing the doomsday scenario as a talking point is so overdone, it no longer has any meaning.
I guess it depends on what you mean by 'die'. Will this game always have players? Yup. Will the servers probably stay up as long as there are people willing to pay? Yep. Will it there always be a large number of servers that high populations? Nope. If your interpretation of an MMO deing is shutting the servers down very very few have done this. Hell if no one playing means the game is dead even FF1 hasn't died yet. That still doesn't provide how we are seeing another MMO "die" especially this one. The only reason SWTOR is still active is because it went F2P. So....it died.
