I have to agree with op. The vision of this game has changed and I don't think its for the better based on the type of content we have been receiving after 2.0.
The game feels repetitive and bland. Classes/Jobs are not very unique (4xDamage, 2xTank, 2xHeal) which leads into the patterned battle/combat system we have. The open world is wasted, and not challenging at all. Maps were a step in the right direction, but this is taking too long for content that should be in the game at launch.
I loved the original vision of this game. I enjoyed many things the game used to have in 1.x that are no longer here. Yoshida, I don't like the direction the game is heading in and I'm sure I'm not alone with this opinion.
