When an interviewer told Yoshi-P that the NA/EU players thought that their localized voice-acting was bad and that the JP voice-acting was much better, he laughed and said that the JP players complained that the JP voices were bad and that it was better to play with the English ones.

This so much, we all get taken away by the foreign accent that we forget that the meaning and feel of the conversation is not translated unless we hear it on our own language.

For example, I speak with a spanish accent, which a lot of people find it "pleasant to listen to" while I find myself telling me how bad i just chopped that last sentence with my screwy accent. What some might find nice to listen to, others find a cacophony.

It's often really hard to tell how good or bad acting is unless you fluently speak that language, so this doesn't surprise me at all. Way, way too many people praise Japanese VAs when they have absolutely no idea what an actual conversation in Japanese sounds like.

This is such a huge pet peeve of mine being an anime fan and all.
