World Transfer questions for those who have done it...

Am currently Legacy on Balmung and am going to transfer over to Ragnarok. Just had a couple of questions.

It talks about rehiring retainers after you get moved. I assume you just go through that same procedure that we did in the 1.0 transfer? And did your retainers transfer okay with all their items in tact?

After you initiate the transfer how long did it take?

I transferred from Ragnarok to Hyperion, when it mentions rehiring retainers, that's for 1.0 characters, because we got to rehire them when we started again, you don't need to dismiss them then rehire them. However you may have to rename retainers if there is already a retainer with the same name. All items and gil (over the stated retrictions) were fine.

The transfer was also instant for me, I transferred, received the emails and bam could log into my new server (but it can take slightly longer.)

@op : I would just make 7 additional characters on the same server if I could when new character creation is open up. Get a friend to help with the money move and give 1 mil gil to each of your characters. That allows you to leave the server with at least 8 mil gil in your pocket. Not even including retainers which I know is only 100k so no thought there lol. Items like others have said are also good but nothing beats cold hard cash moving with you.

i would wait as i would assume that if there going to allow legacy to normal world transfers i would say they may change the limit on gill .. I've found you may need to rename your retainers if there name is taken in the destination world also

Thanks for all the replies, I sent an e-mail to support asking them for sure what the current status on the gil transfer is I see from Delsus's comment all of their gil transferred fine...

But I was below the stated maximum for transfers, if you are above that you will loose some gil.

Yes, they confirmed its only 1 million gil and 100k per retainer.

So yes anything over those 2 values will be lost, but as someone said just buy tonnes of alagan pieces then sell them back when you switch.

World Transfer

Read it carefully. Also:

The character you wish to transfer must be at least three days old.

I transferred myself from Phoenix to Odin in January, it took only an hour I believe and nothing got lost on retainers or my inventory.

no, 1 transfer is 1 world(up to all 8 chars if they exist) to another world(if you had many chars you wanted to transfer to multiple worlds it would be more than one transfer), but as mentioned by bunnychain each char must be atleast 3 days old
