Biggest problem with XIV is XI fans

I think the biggest problem with FFXIV is the FFXI fans who just cant get over their FFXI fixation.
First of all FFXI was a mediocre PC-style mmo in a FF setting, it was dated at release, now the concept belongs in a museum.

You littered these forums with FFXI comparisons and complaints and that is not helpful for anyone for the simple reason XIV cannot be turned into XI even if the devs wanted to, so get over it.

FFXIV is in a rough state yes, it should not have been released, yeah yeah everybody knows that already so why beat this dead horse every single day?

FFXIV is missing many things like more story, quests that have a story to them, a purpose for the grind, itemization, rewards balance, decent tutorials, a reason to explore, hidden stuff.....off the top of my head.

There is a lot that can be improved and added to FFXIV that will make it into a good game so why not concentrate on that instead of endlessly stating the obvious (game is in rough shape) or silliness like turn it into XI.

w/o XI fans the games player base woulda been lower then it was at release XI fans were fooled into think this game would be as good or better then XI.
FFXI's concepts are about the only thing that will get this game were it needs to bet thats why mark my words if this game continues you will see more and more of XI's systems tweaked and intergrated into XIV.
If not the game wont make it, XI was the flag ship mmorpg by SE, and for it to be "mediocre" It had a Hard strong fan base for 10+ years, so that's a BS title you gave it.
Mediocrity doesnt keep ppl compelled to pay for a products for 10 years homegirl.
The money your saving from playing this awesome game that had to go f2p from p2p because its not "mediocre" like XI, use it to by a clue, you have obviously let the real problems with this game wiz past you.
