Aion has instanced dungeons & they are timed. Example, fort instance battles where the chest disappears. it is on a timer. it is a challenge based on time so SE just likes time trials, so what? i like time trials it is more demanding.Ok, besides FFXI, please name me one meaty dungeon with a time limit on any other MMO. Just one. Please, someone name just one. I have played WOW, Rift, FFXI, EQ2, Runes of Magic, Aion ( for a short time ), Conan ( even shorter ), LOTR, and many others. I dont remember a single timed "Dungeon" besides in FFXI.

I like this time thing since everyone I have played with is so slow... It takes forever to do anything...
Now they have no choice but to complete in with the allotted time frame.
Seifs reply was understandable. Dynamis wasnt shit! The epicness of getting a relic weapon, that made it worth the trouble. I dont know if they are going to implement that into this game, but if they do i dont see anything bad coming from this. Time limit is good if people get a sense of fullfillment, and satisfaction from the results. I say lets see what happens if its copy/paste and no one likes it, im sure SE will go back to the drawing board, and prepare a new soulution. Heres to being optimistic!
im confused then, how is that every other MMO is allowed to have as many instanced dungeons active at any given time with no time limit? Why, in a nutshell:
Instances take up server resources. The game can only offer so many instances of any given area at a time.
Remember the BCNMs for the companion quests in FFXI? Or when people realized Splitting Heirs was profitable? Or primetime Nyzul and Salvage? Or anytime Limbus and Dynamis? If you did any of those, you probably spent some time waiting for the people inside to finish. Maybe you even lined up for it.
Now imagine if those instances had no time limit. Want to do that BCNM? Got your people together for a KS99? Tough shit, somebody decided to have a picnic in there. Maybe come back tomorrow, they might be done.
Time limits are necessary for instances. Otherwise you'd have idiots and trolls wasting everyone else's time by locking the instance.
Kinda makes you wonder about the motivations of the people complaining about time limits.
15 abilities each? what is this... Kindergarten?A jack of all trades WHM... what is this 1989?
Because SE still lives in the dark ages of coding.
Where the horsebirds at?!
Requires level 25 for the first dungeon.
I hope that means that's around jobs become available.
Peach Parfait/Khulan Angura on Gilgamesh
wait 5 months for 60 minutes of content... good job, SE... at this rate, you only need 5000 more months of work before you have a decent MMO
You're free to leave at any time, especially if you're considering it took them 5 months to make content that is timed, since it's the cool thing to ignore the majority of time spent is toward overhauling this mess of a foundation.
60 mins is pretty good amount of time especially if its a big dungeon and you basically have to be moving all the time to complete it, prevents people from doing poopie in the middle of runs and cigarette breaks...
